I love it when you look at someone with
a smile on your face and they break into
a smile back at you, not because they
know why you're smiling, but because
you're happy and that's enough to make
them happy.
~ EK
It has been a rather warm and
wet weekend, but I did hear
arctic cold is on it's way making
this winter loving girl very
happy.
I spent a little time slushing
through the mud, getting as
much fresh air as I can since
I keep hearing the flu bug is
making the rounds. Lots of
fresh green juices, outdoor air,
exercise and plenty of rest,
my ways to avoid the sick
germs.
When the rain brought me
inside I prepared a cup of
tea, watched a super movie
[thanks Ginny,] finished all
the baby knits I was working
on, a pair of socks that have
been hanging out since before
Christmas and worked on my
Stonecrop. Knitting for hours,
I can't complain.
I wanted to let all you Knitter's
know that Liesl of Buckaloo View
is hosting a fun Mystery Hat
Swap if you are interested.
Tomorrow my days return to
their normal schedule and while
I've enjoyed the quiet of unscheduled
days I'm ready for a little more
structure to my hours. Whatever
your week holds for you I do hope
it is an easy and gentle transition,
that you are happy, and you smile
at someone, it could make their day!

YARN ALONG
The cure for anything is salt water-
sweat,
tears,
or
the sea.
~ Isak Dinesen
While I work on Christmas
gifts year round the month
of December always finds
me with a list that is not
complete.
Since I know I have family
members that visit here I am
only showing you a peek of
what is currently taking up
most of my knitting time...
tis' the season. :)
I can share with you a future
yarn along project that I
was thrilled to win from
Susan B. Anderson and
Infinite Twist, The
Heyward Shawl Kit.
I am looking forward to
casting on just as soon
as all my Christmas knitting
is wrapped.
I am still reading My Sister's Grave
and can see it being made into
a tv movie in the future; it's
a very easy read.

MOMENTS AND A WINNER
Life is short,
if there was ever a
moment to follow your
passion and do something
that matters to you,
that moment is now!
~ Padgram
This week has been an
enjoyable week, much
of my time spent with
my Alex, the youngest
of my babies and the
last one here at home.
{Home} school is going
well and I think we have
a nice rhythm to our day.
I am so blessed to have
this time to spend with
such a wonderful & thoughtful
young man, he's pretty
great and I'm not saying
that just because I'm his
mama.
I hung my 70's lamp,
it's it far out? I love it
and think it adds just the
right touch to my studio.
The mail box has been
overflowing with good
things.....
I was gifted from a dear
friend with the pattern
Color Affection and I
received my yarn order
so I can cast on.
I received the cutest birthday
card made from a recycled
juice can, it's that clever?
And I now have plenty of
magazines to read this month.
I took the time to hand wind a
ball of yarn, enjoying the
meditative process and then
cast on in threes for a sweet
baby girl that will be born
into the family next month
[my husband's cousin].
Thank you to all who entered
my birthday giveaway.
The winner is ...
Please enjoy all the moments
each day brings and have a
great weekend.
Love,
Tracey

MY BIRTHDAY AND A GIVEAWAY
Why Birthdays Are Important
They acknowledge our steps along the road.
They let us savor the joy, yet again.
They inspire laughter and shenanigans.
They embrace pageantry and tradition.
They ask us to close our eyes,
And make a wish for the future.
~ Tiffany & Co.
If you've been a follower of my
blog for any length of time you
know how much I love birthdays
and how much I love giveaways,
adding another year to my life hasn't
changed that one bit. Saturday I
will celebrate my 51 year around the
sun with laughter, love and cake.
It looks like my beach trip may
be cancelled due to rain, but that's
okay, we need the rain and there
is always knitting; to quote one
of my son's, "it's all good".
In keeping with blog tradition I
am hosting a little giveaway. I have
a blown glass heart necklace, a little
wool felted bag and a package of bird
gift tags I want to give to one lucky
reader. If you would like a chance
to win please leave me a comment
telling me your favorite birthday cake
and I will draw a name next Friday.
Oh, and please leave me a way
to get in touch with you because it's
a real bummer when I can't find you.
I'm making a wish for all
of you!
Love,
Tracey

SNAIL MAIL
Some people come into our lives and
quickly go. Some stay for a while,
leave footprints on our hearts, and
we are never, ever the same.

Most days I get very little mail,
I am paperless all the way,
but not long ago my box was

beautiful and sweet Katie. I won
a giveaway she was hosting, a
giveaway of the most lovely
bows made from a recycled
calendar. I can do a lot of things,
but bow making isn't a skill
I was blessed with so these
bows will come in handy.
Next came a package all the

outdid herself. I love everything
she picked out from the tea,
the turtle necklace, the candy,
to the yarn, but my favorite
is a print that I have named
Lorraine because she reminds
me so much of my Granny.
'Lorraine', which I named her
after my Granny, now hangs in
my kitchen where I can see and
talk with her daily ;)
Katie and Mette, thank you
for coming into my life, You
both touched my heart and
I am forever changed.
