WEEKENDING IN DECEMBER

Awakened souls strengthen and encourage
Each other by their friendships and interchange
of thoughts. They create a network of light
over the planet And spin threads of mutual
upliftment and inspiration.

~ Vida Reed Stone

Oh this December is turning out
to be quite strange, it feels more
like April than December!

I have spent time hiking around the
property and sitting in the sun knitting.

I took a trip to Charleston, SC to do
a little Christmas shopping and was
pleasantly surprised to hear my name
being called in Barnes and Nobles; a
long time friend I was in high school
with recognized my voice and stopped
to chit chat for a few moments. I do
love happy moments shared with friends!

I picked up a few skeins of huge yarn
and a pair of size 50 needles to knit a
few chunky cowls. What a workout these
needles give you, hand me size 2 anytime.
While I finished the cowl in no time, it was
not the relaxing knitting I love at all.

My oldest son and his family surprised me
with a visit so I had some baby loving time,
made my heart happy.

I received a photo of Emerson in her Olie knit
hat. They were visiting an animal manger festival
that include not only goats, but reindeer! .

Tammy on  Instagram {I'm traceyclover}
posted that she had a coloring book on order,
a knitting coloring book, and I was so
intrigued that I was off to Amazon to take
a look, my copy will be here in a few days.
I wanted to let you know incase like me
you had no idea this existed.

WEEKENDING

If you're struggling tonight
please know you're not alone.
You matter very much. Don't
give up.

There are nine pecan trees on
my land and most of the time
the squirrels devour all the nuts
before I can blink, but not this
year!
There is one tree my furry
little friends seem to have
missed, and while these nuts
are smaller than those on the
other trees, they have the
best flavor. I am only picking
up a handful at a time, but I
am thankful for each nut that
falls.
 Miss Daisy Mae
Turkey has been
enjoying the cooler
weather and having
a chance to run around
the field along with her
chicken sisters and brother.
 The girls found a great
spot to dig for worms.
And Zeus The Rooster has
been keeping a close eye on
everything and he is just waiting
for a chance to send me running,
he does not like me at all.
I heard that some of you had
frost and some even had snow,
and SC wasn't to be left out, we
did have a wonderful cold front
blow in.  While there won't be
snow on the ground, it is cold
for here and there will be quilts
on the beds.
I have been getting up and out the
door just as soon as I can see to enjoy
an hour getting grounded for my day,
it just helps the day flow so much better.
I paid a visit to my LYS and
had a hard time sticking to
my list. I saw the sample
knit of this and have not been
able to stop thinking of it. The
yarn was so soft, light and airy.
I tried my hand at knitting
a headband with a huge flower,
and while I am a little too mature
[ahem] to wear it, I think it is
adorable.
I have enjoyed watching
the sun rise
and the sun set each day.

I didn't want to say goodnight
without first saying that if you
are in any way thinking this life
is too hard and that you can't go
on please, oh please, talk with
someone, call a friend, call me,
I would love to talk with you or
call the number at the top of the post.
Suicide is not the solution, it's not.
You are important and you are loved!
We are all fragile, we all go through
stuff, but we are here for each other
and we can all help each other.
Much love,
Tracey

APPROPRIATE FOR MY SOUL

I let go. I accept my life as it is. I do not judge,
I do not dramatize. I let life's events come freely
and I welcome the lessons they convey. I stop
struggling now. I let go and know that God
always gives me that which is the most
appropriate for my soul.

I was thrilled to turn the calendar
this morning, October...Yes!
Right now the rain is falling and
the Weather Channel is predicting
epic flooding, but there is nothing
I can accomplish by worrying so
I'm not.

My week has been filled with foggy
mornings, spider webs decorating the
sides of the road where I walk, mushrooms
springing up everywhere, I love the red
ones, but the chanterelles  we can eat! Missing
the eclipse due to clouds [every single time],
marveling at how high the tide has been,
very unusual.

I've given up trying to keep Miss Bette
Davis Cat off my bed, every time I look
she is stretched out on my side. Can a
cat be trained? I am at a loss.

I have been busy in the kitchen, baking
soothes my soul just as much as knitting
does. Apple hand pies were enjoyed, as
was a lemon-blueberry jam cake. I found
myself enjoying these treats right along
with my guys and then woke up the other
morning feeling terrible, I just can't eat
sweet treats like this and feel good.
Now I am back on my plan and today
feeling much better.

Enjoy your weekend, I will be trying
to stay dry and knitting! :)
Much love,
Tracey

SIGH

To give vent now and then to his [her]
feelings, whether of pleasure or discontent,
is a great ease to a [wo]man's heart.

~Francesco Guicciardini

A week starting out with
spring like temperatures
only to be reminded in
the end that this is still
winter. My temperatures
have dropped 30 degrees
and it has been raining
now for three days straight
making me just a little bit
down, sigh.

There were some quiet walks,
time playing with my 'grand'
dog Elsie, making hummus
not once, but twice this week;
it's really good with Terra Chips.
I observed Strove Tuesday
with these pancakes.  I've been
knitting every chance I get,
and while I love the projects
I am working on I really want
to cast on this, but am not
sure which yarn from my
stash to use.  There is a
new book on my nightstand
and a notebook filled with
ideas from the Food Summit,
now just waiting for the
sun to shine so I can get
outside.

Please don't forget to enter
my giveaway.

I hope your weekend
is a great one.

Love,
Tracey
