The people who love to eat
are always the best people.

~ Julia Childs

Not only do I live with some of
the best people, I blog with them
too so I wanted to share with you
a recipe we have been enjoying.

Blueberry Galette

3/4 cup unbleached all purpose flour
1/4 cup stone ground corn meal
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
6 Tablespoons chilled butter, cubed
3 Tablespoons ice water.

Combine dry ingredients, mix in butter
until mixture feels like heavy sand. Add
ice water, mix well and chill for at least
30 minutes.

In a mixing bowl combine:
3 cups blue berries
3 Tablespoons flour
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1 1/2 Tablespoons honey

Preheat oven 375 degrees.

Roll dough in a circle and place
on a flat sheet [I use a cast iron
pizza pan].  Pour fruit mixture
in the middle of dough and fold
sides over about 2-3 inches, leaving
the center open.

Sprinkle with 1 Tablespoon Turbinado sugar
and bake 35- 40 minutes, just till crust is a
nice golden brown and the berries are
starting to burst.

Cool slightly then enjoy. I like my slice
topped with a little vanilla yogurt.

  1. Thank you so much, Tracey, for sharing your recipe for this beautiful galette. You saved me the trouble of asking for it. ~wink~ I clicked on your pinterest button and when I started looking at all of your wonderful "After Dinner" foods I came back over here in a hurry! I'm still working on losing weight...that Board of yours could cause some serious damage. ~chuckle~ I just made a pie last week, so it will be a bit before I make anything else, but when I do THIS will be THE recipe I try! Thanks so much!

  2. This looks so delicious!! And we are planning in going blueberry picking soon so I am saving this!! Thank you for sharing! And thank you for blogging.mi live visiting your space. I don't always get a chance to comment due to baby trying to "help" but I read every post and enjoy your words and pictures so much <3

  3. Oh my word, that looks so delicious! Can't wait to try it once we go blueberry picking in a few weeks. Thank you Tracey!

  4. Looks easy and yummy. Fruit straight up - not covering up the flavor of the berries with much. On vacation in Maine we always make a cobbler with blueberries and peaches, but perhaps this would be something new to try this year.

  5. I'm making this ... TODAY!!! Gosh it looks yummy! (and I have all the ingredients) Great start to the day! Thanks.

  6. Oh wow that looks good! I wish I could just have one bite....well maybe more.

  7. I love that Julia Childs quote! Your blueberry galette looks amazing, I must give it a try when blueberries come into season here soon. Thanks so much for sharing your recipe. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead! xo

  8. that looks like heaven. You are so talented in the kitchen and I would love to sit and visit with you over a coffee and a slice of that galette and chat about knitting :)

  9. That looks so darn good. Blueberries have just gone to the top of the list for this coming weekend. I'm hoping it's not to late to go pick some.

  10. Oh my Tracey- it looks fantastic- you made the images look delish. I could dive in there head first- must try this recipe, thank you for sharing.

  11. My mouth is positively watering and my tummy rumbling. This looks incredible and one to book mark. It's nice to know that Julia would have approved of me too...
I'm just going to google Turbinado sugar now...

  12. Yum Trace! I love blueberries!!! I would have to make a gluten free crust, but that is doable.

  13. I am going to try this. It sure looks good! My family always likes your recipe ideas!

  14. Y.U.M. And it's one of those recipes that can easily be made gluten free! This is going on my "must make before summer's over" list, Tracey!

  15. Tracey, I wanted to mention that I just found your second note on yesterday's blog post that I did on my Daybook Entry. ;)

  16. Thank you for sharing this recipe! I plan on going blueberry picking again this weekend and I will make sure to save enough for this yummy looking galette.

  17. THANK YOU!!! I love all things blueberry--I'm going to make this right away. That quote made me smile. Julia Child was wonderful--one of "the best". : )

  18. Looks beautiful and delicious! I like a sturdy crust and prefer the bite of the cornmeal over just a flour crust. I'm drooling over those blueberries!

  19. mmmmmm Id love some with ice cream

  20. That looks really good! Blueberries are still a few weeks away here but I'm going to tuck that recipe away for blueberry season! Yum!

  21. What a purr-ty gallette. Yummy!

  22. Save me a piece I´m on my way :-)
It looks so delicious - YUMMY!

  23. mmmmm....blueberries...I have that quote hanging in my kitchen...we're just back from vacay so...catching up on all your doin's...
