SPRING IS HERE

Everything is blooming most recklessly,
if it were voices instead of colors, there
would be an unbelievable shrieking into
the heart of the night.
~Rainer Maria Rilke

This week saw the rain move out
and the sun, along with warmer
temperatures return.

The fruit trees are blooming,
along with the pines,
pollen is blowing around
and I am drinking pots of
nettle tea and using the neti pot
faithfully.

I scheduled an appointment
to have my hair cut, Tuesday,
the 25, now if I can just keep my
nerve to have it cut. My hair
is 22 inches long, I measured,
and we are quite attached to
each other.

I have been using the
oil method to clean my
face and loving how soft
my skin feels, have you
tried it?

I'm ready to turn the heel
on the socks I'm knitting,
it doesn't take much to
make me happy, I am
very excited.

My fourth baby, Peter, turned
21 today, the first day of spring.
Wow, I wish the days would
slow down just a wee bit,
they are flying by.

There are no plans here for
the weekend, although I
wouldn't  mind a walk
on the beach, it's been
too long.

Whatever you have planned
I hope you enjoy yourself.

Love,
Tracey
XO

  1. Way to go Tracey, I can't wait to see your new haircut. I cut my long hair 19 years ago, 6 months before my wedding. My hairdresser wouldn't actually do it, she said I would regret it on my wedding day. Well, I found a new hairdresser, she cut it and I have never had a regret about it. Good luck!

Enjoy your weekend and happy spring!

  2. I can't wait to see you with your new 'do! A hau'oli la hanau to your son. 21 is a milestone. Flowers are some of nature's most wondrous creations.

  3. Embrace shorter hair! But I know what you mean...I have had short hair almost my whole life. And then Corrine was born and I grew my hair because it was easier. I've had to go short in stages. I'm not sure how I got so attached to it since I never really had it. However it got curlier after I was pregnant and I am embracing that!

I"m a little envious of your pretty flowers. We are in that brown in between stage. Have a great weekend!

  4. Hmm, pine trees in bloom - I've never thought of them doing that! As for washing your face with oil, I'm going to give it a shot. As part of our frugal kick, my husband and I have been talking about our shampoo - we spend almost $9 a bottle for organic, cruelty free shampoo, which I love, but that is really pricey for us. We just ran out this week and I have been washing my hair with bar soap so that I don't have to buy shampoo. Deciding what I want to do about that. Then I buy a Burt's Bee facial cleanser, but don't like the plastic container that it comes in - so oil bought in glass bottles might be the ticket!

  7. Oh, my, I am loving your springtime pics--they are proof that it won't be long (maybe a month?) before everything will be blossoming here. : ) I know just how you feel about parting with your long hair. I was so nervous when I went in to have mine cut the first time, but two years later, I am still glad that I did it! That oil cleansing method sounds so soothing; I'll have to give it a try. I'm turning the heel on a sock today, too. : )

  8. Happy Spring to you Tracey! Thanks so much for sharing your lovely spring world with us. I'm expecting freezing temps and possibly a snowstorm next week so it's wonderful to see your pics.

I've used the oil cleansing method before and am making my way back to it. It was wonderful and my skin never felt better.

A very Happy Birthday to your young man. Here's wishing him a wonderful birthday with many, many more ahead.

  9. I can always count on you Tracey to provide beauty to the blog world. Audrey and I found a bloomin' daffodil and some lovely vinca. Buds about to open on some of the flowering trees.. Yes, I'm ready.

    Blessings, Debbie

  10. Your photographs are stunning!

I have been hearing more and more about cleansing your face with oil and am so intrigued. I have been weary of it because my skin is oily, but from that link you have above it seems I could still do it. This is giving me the nudge I needed to give it a try. Thank you for sharing!!
