swim in the sea,
drink the wild air.
~Emerson
Saturday was cleaning up around
the green house, hauling off broom
rods and numerous weeds, noticing
the fire ants are back in full force
and feeling totally frustrated as to
how to get rid of them, pollen filling
the air coating everything in a fine
layer of yellow. Having this for
dinner with the addition of little
spring potatoes, just the right
thing after working so hard outside.
Oh, my winter body was not
prepared for that job! :)
Sunday I took off to the beach,
walking the shoreline, listening
to the waves crash on shore. I
soaked in the warm sunshine,
let the cold water wash over my
feet releasing my stress, I knit,
read and drank in the wild air!
I am now ready for a new week
and I hope you are too.

even though it was hard work... it sounds lovely. all the prep for spring. <3
ReplyDeleteAhhh, these beautiful photos are a breath of fresh air. A tonic for this cold-weary soul.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear you made it to the beach. It certainly was a lovely weekend for it, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteHave the most wonderful week Tracey.
The mushroom lentil dish sounds delish...I don't know about fire ants...but if you figure out a humane way to deal with them...let me know...maybe it will work for yellow jackets as well...
ReplyDelete~Have a lovely day!
Oh, how I need a day at the shore. I may take a ride up to Gloucester this week, even though it's still freezing cold here. There is something very comforting about the power of the sea--if it is so strong and great, imagine how much more so God is!
ReplyDeleteI loved looking at your photos. It looks like you're knitting up something very pretty. ♥
I drank in your pictures, moaned at the fire ant find, we have had a similar issue with harlequin beetles, envied you sitting at the beach, reading and knitting. Have put the Snow Child on my ever growing list of must read.
ReplyDeleteSpring yard work is always a sore and painful thing. All the bending and pulling.
ReplyDeleteI love that emerson quote.Your photographs are so calming. Just what I need this morning. The mushroom lentil salad sounds scrumptious. I love anything with lentils...well almost.
ReplyDeleteHope the week continues in the same vein.

lovely views you have, so pretty. I love the first photo the best, a great perspective of your lovely area. Fire ants....we had them in TX and I never knew how to rid of them way back then. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteKnitting on the beach - something I have not done yet. Sounds like a great Sunday.
ReplyDeleteoh the sea! it's been far too long since i've breathed in salt air. must remedy!
ReplyDeleteAir and water- beautiful pairing- looks so relaxing knitting and reading by the sea- wish it was me.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week.
I am dreaming of pollen on my car instead of road salt! More snow Wednesday.... It looks like you had a nice day at the beach. I can't wait till it's warm enough to go there for a little while.
ReplyDeleteWaves are like a soothing magic although I feel they sound best from Oahu. Oh boy, fire ants? Yikes. Do they bite you?
