to find the air and the water exhilarating;
to be refreshed by a morning walk or an
evening saunter... to be thrilled by the
stars at night; to be elated over a bird's
nest or a wildflower in spring - these
are some of the rewards of the simple
life.
~John Burroughs
It has been a simple week here...
...enjoying morning and evening
walks in unusually warm weather.
While most of the country battles
another winter storm, I have been
dealing with temperatures in the
80's and almost unbearable humidity.
With winter temps this high I am
a little scared to see what summer
has in store...
...noticing signs of spring all around...
....enjoying this in the mornings....
...and finally coming up with just
the right combination for my chai...
...winding yarn and working on part
of my gift for my swap partner...
...realizing I am fighting a lost cause
in keeping Bette Davis off my bed...
...being super excited that the Olympics
are beginning tonight.
...and watching some amazing sunsets.
Do you have any fun plans for the weekend?
I am getting together with my best friend for
lunch out and a visit to the LYS for a pattern
and yarn, she wants me to knit her a scarf.
Whatever you have planned I hope you take
the time to notice all the beauty that surrounds
you.
Peace to you
Love,
Tracey
don't you wish every week could be like this one?
ReplyDeleteYou deserve that beautiful weekend. Here's to many more.
ReplyDeleteI'm on my own with the girls for a week. Saturday they'll work on their Valentines. Sunday the little one and I have a spa date while big sister attends a birthday party.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Tracey ... yes, the simple weeks are the best ones :) have a blessed weekend! m.
ReplyDeletebeautiful spring like secrets in your photos. this swap is going to be fun, I'm enjoying the secrecy so far. How could you not let your sweet cat have everything she wants??? such a cutie pie. Have fun knitting this weekend :)
ReplyDeleteWe are very excited about the Olympics here too. Your kitty looks just like mine!! And she goes wherever the heck she want - Queen that she is. I have to start working on my swap projects this weekend along with my Olympic knitting. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDelete80's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, we have been struggling with -16 F and I am not happy about that . I wish I was in your neck of the woods Tracey.
Yes the winter Olympics- a fierce battle between hubby and I, who will win the most medals .....Norway or Canada?
Bring it!
Have a great weekend.
Just lovely Tracey. I am working on something for my swap partner too :)
ReplyDeletewow, it has been warm there! we had one warm day (low 70s) then cold again and i am thankful for every cold day :)
ReplyDeleteOK, I admit I had to look up what 80s was and wow!! I can't imagine temperatures like that at this time of year! I'm going to start my swap making this weekend - so fun! We're excited about the olympics here too. Have a lovely weekend Tracey!
ReplyDeleteBette Davis--so cute! Oh, how I love black cats! We have one, too. His name is Indiana Jones. Eighty degrees...it's hard for me to fathom. I won't see temperatures like that until June (or at least May). I won't see flowers and green growing things until April. I'm looking forward to watching the Olympics (and knitting) this weekend, too.
ReplyDeleteAt the end of that John Burroughs quote, I found myself whispering Amen.
wow, what a sunset!
ReplyDeletethis reminds me I need to make up another batch of chai...
getting ready to click on that chai link!!!
ReplyDeletehave fun with your bestie!
We finally got our snow...such a story! Coveting your warm days and sunsets. :) Happy yarn hunting...sounds like fun! :)
ReplyDeleteWe didn't have it warm up quite as much, but yesterday we took a walk in the park and I didn't need a coat, so that was lovely! I've seen the first daffodils blooming this week, that made me get excited for spring. Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos, Tracey! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
