KINDNESS TOUCHED ME

How beautiful a day can be
When kindness touches it!

 ~George Elliston

As you know I participated
in a Blogger Swap hosted by
the beautiful Amanda [ SweetPotoatoClaire.]
I showed you the gifts that
I made and sent off and now
I would love to share what I
received in the mail last week.
My gifts were made by the
very talented and lovely
Mackenzie from While the Water Boils.
Perfect for me as I am always
getting little burns when I
am in the kitchen and we
won't mention the cuts. ;)
Smell so good I want it eat it!
Lavender and lemon are both
favorite scents of mine and this
lotion feels amazing.
I can't wait to use these
 bath salts.
I love all the gifts, but I think
my favorite are these pillow cases.
Aren't they pretty?
Since I don't sew it never entered
my head to make pillow cases,
and I think they are amazing.

Amanda and Mackenzie,
thank you both for giving
me a beautiful day and making
my life a little brighter.
I am touched by the kindness
and look forward to the next
swap.

A LITTLE GIVEAWAY

"The secret of life is that all
we have and are is a gift
of grace to be shared. "

 ~Lloyd John Ogilvie

While in the yarn store
on Friday picking up
needles I found the cutest
little stitch markers and
thought of you.

If you would like them
leave a comment letting
me know what your favorite
pattern is to knit.

I'll choose a winner at random
and announce the winner
next Monday [July 23].
Have a great week!

MY SOUL IS FILLED WITH DELIGHT

Every now and then,
when the world sits just right,
a gentle breath of heaven
fills my soul with delight...

~Hazelmarie ‘Mattie’ Elliott,
A Breath of Heaven

Even with a tropical storm headed
my way and the power being out
for five hours it cannot diminish my
delight...
I finished my cardigan and I love it.
It's a little breezy here and the
sun comes and goes from behind
fast moving clouds, but I wanted to
share just a little bit of my happiness
with you.
I would have taken photos modeling
the cardigan for you, but I am the
only one here so this is the best
I could think of at the moment.
I hope you each have enjoyed a
beautiful day and you can feel
a little bit of heaven blowing down
and touching your soul. My weather
is expected to continue to deteriorate
over the next twenty four hours so
I will be in touch when I can.
Much love! xx

THANKSGIVING 2011

Thanksgiving is the holiday of peace,
the celebration of work and the simple life...
a true folk-festival that speaks the poetry
of the turn of the seasons, the
connection of all these things with God.

 ~Ray Stannard Baker (David Grayson)

May your day be filled with love.

Happy Thanksgiving Day.

GRATITUDE

"Silent gratitude isn't
 much use to anyone."

~G.B.Stern

Not long ago I was the fortunate
winner of a giveaway hosted by
Maya. She has a wonderful
blog, maya*made, that I enjoy
visiting. Maya is a very talented
women who always inspires me.

I won a copy of The Write Start
written by Jennifer Hallissy.

I have since read the book from cover
to cover and have found a lot of
inspiring ideas to use.

The first part of the book explains
the importance of writing, which
tools to use, and how to use them.

The second part is broken down
into 52 classic writing activites,
each with variations for the four
stages of writers:
Scribblers
Spellers
Storytellers
Scholars.

We are enjoying the ideas that
I learned for my little scribbler
and I am looking forward to using
this book for all of her writing
stages.

Thank you Maya for the
wonderful giveaway.xx
