WEEKENDING

“Always believe in things and people that bring
you pleasure. What good does it do to throw
those things out the window?”
~ Pat Conroy- The Great Santini

This weekend was filled with
sunshine and open windows,
long walks in the marsh,
playing with my camera,
knitting,
naps,
cooking,
saying goodbye [again]
to a favorite author
this one local,
he went to school with
my mother in law,
pulling out books,
most of them signed,
and rereading favorite passages,
learning that the home
where The Great Santini was
filmed is for  sale.
Want to move to my town?
I would love to have you
over for tea.

  1. Yes, I'd love to come to tea. How cool he was from your town and went to school with your MIL. What lovely blue skies you've had this week.

  7. I would love to come for tea. I've never been to South Carolina. I've got a couple of Pat Conroy books, thought I've never read them.

  8. Tea sounds lovely! I've only been to South Carolina once for the Huntington State Park to camp. I was pregnant with my son (who is 20 now and in college for Sustainable building & Ecology in Maine). I had a very small toddler too and I saw an ad for the State park with a picture of the beach. When my son was only a few months old we drove down from Upstate New York- it was lovely and the people so nice in SC. Now we live in Colorado where the people are very nice too and the mountains soar above us. But tea sounds lovely and your blog is so nice and beautiful.
