WEEKENDING

"Dip into your own soul
Find your own truth
What calls to your heart
What moves your spirit
Make your life dance
To the song of your own
Essence!"

~ Cherokee Billie

It's been such a fabulous
weekend and I am sorry
to see it come to an end.

I spent Friday giving my
home some loving, test
knitting a new born hat,
finishing my book, [which
I recommend] and starting
another.
Saturday I played with Porter
all day, talked with Alex, the
birthday boy, on the phone and
could hear in his voice the wonderful
time he was having in NYC, ate
spinach-feta pizza for dinner and
crawled into bed early.

This morning I was up at 4:00 a.m.,
made a quick stop at the store for
supplies and hit the beach. While
I didn't get to see any baby turtles
making their way to the ocean, I did
get to help as a nest that hatched three
days ago was checked; out of 140 eggs
only 4 didn't hatch so that is pretty
incredible and I hope they make it
to adult hood.  I still haven't given
up hope of seeing the babies hatch,
I'm joining the turtle volunteers!

Alex won't be home until tomorrow
so tonight Mike and I are snacking
for dinner, watching the rerun of
Sharknado 3, and of course knitting.

  12. Beautiful sunrise photos...I was hoping you'd be blessed to witness the wee turtles, but now that you're a volunteer, it's sure to happen, right?! We got some much-needed rain this weekend, so thankful. :)

  14. How cool to be at the beach with turtles. Even if you didn't see any hatch. 4 out of 140 is a pretty good ratio. Good luck to them.
