it is vanity's proving ground. Hair is
terribly personal, a tangle of mysterious
prejudices.

coloring my hair, trying
to hold on to the brunette
I had always been. While
I am very conscience as
to what I put in my body
every 2 months I was putting
a dye on my hair, but no
more, it is time to embrace
the gray. I had over a foot of
hair cut off and the color lightened
as I grow out all the dye and then
I will be growing my hair
long again. I hope when I
am 63 to have hair like this!
That's AWESOME! Did you have enough to donate? Your hair cut is adorable!

ReplyDeleteYour hair looks FABULOUS, Tracey! Your new cut really suits you. I'm just beginning to go gray and plan to just let it happen. : )
ReplyDeleteCool! You look great, Tracey! I think grey hair looks nice anyway, so if one day it's all grey you'll be just as gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love this! I don't color my hair either - never have - other than a little sun-in to lighten it - and I haven't done that for a while. I am getting some gray now and am OK with it. You look great. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy the rest of your week!
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful! Great cut and color! I'm still coloring my hair, but I've already thought about how much longer I'm going to be doing that...
ReplyDeleteYou should post a before picture, too, for comparison!
ReplyDeleteI really like it.
THIS LOOKS GREAT!!!! Love it!!!
ReplyDeleteI love it! And I love your pin too. I have only dyed my hair once and that was for my wedding six years ago. I don't mind my natural grey highlights!
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful! This coming Friday, I am taking the plunge and coloring one last time...grey! It is the color of my roots as they grow...so why not make the hair that color? You really do look stunning Tracey :-) mari
ReplyDeleteTracey, you look amazing! I LOVE this shorter hairstyle and the lighter color on you! It brings your beautiful face into focus!
ReplyDeletei don't know percentages very well, but my hair is probably over half grey, sometimes when i see it silver in the sun, it makes me stop. i didn't realize how much blonde really does show grey! oh how i hope my hair goes the color of your pin! gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLiking the new you. I too am brunette and do have a few grey hairs that I am unfussed about. For me its not so much the colour but the cut. You are so lucky you can grow your hair long, love those pins!

Tracey, that is fantastic - I know its a big step in this forever young beauty culture. I have no intention of dying my hair - don't do it now, won't do it when I'm gray. My head and what's inside it is too important to me to take the chance drenching it in chemicals. My husband will still love me when my hair is long and gray. That is a fantastic picture that you link to - the woman is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi Tracey, your hair looks wonderful and you have a really great cut and it is flattering to the shape of your face. I have been dying my hair too for a long time. I started becoming gray with I was in my mid twenties, and so did my brother. His hair was totally white by the time he was in his thirties, kind of like Steve Martin.
ReplyDeleteI had the same problem. I wore my hair very long, to my waist and it was many different colors. I had it cut finally, just below my shoulders and I'm working on the getting the gray to take on a more lighter golden-brown color, so that they blend in better in between the dye jobs. I'm not ready to go completely gray just yet, but I think gray hair is truly beautiful! It is also very empowering. I hope you have a fun and happy day ahead ! With love, Delisa :)
oh tracey! you look beautiful! i love the gray, and i love the cut. you always pick such wonderful quotes to fit your post. there is something absolutely beautiful about embracing the aging process... well, just like that picture you linked to!
ReplyDeleteTracey, you look beautiful! I like the color too. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI started with gray hairs in my twenties, and I think now (forties) I have more gray than black. But it makes my day when my son (8) tells me "Mama, I love your hair."
The only time I died my hair was 3 years ago in India, with henna. It made my hair completely black and we were all a little shocked at how I different I looked. It washed off in a couple of months, and we were all happy to have my grays back. Funny. The natural way. Perfect!
Your "pin" by the way... beautiful! I'll shoot for that too.
Tracey, I had tears in my eyes seeing your beautiful face (and hair too.) We don't see enough photos of you.
ReplyDeleteRight when I logged on, before your post came on, your blogger photo loaded and I went...OH SHE CUT HER HAIR!
XOXO
You did it! It looks awesome. You are beautiful Tracey. And I love the pin. I am just starting to find a few greys here and there and I have no plans to dye my hair, so we will see where it takes me.
ReplyDeleteI love it Tracey! You are beautiful and your hair looks wonderful!
ReplyDeletexoxo
Tracey it looks beautiful!! and as it grows it it will as well. I am doing the same.
ReplyDeleteyou are so beautiful. love the hair cut and color. <3
ReplyDeleteI will never have cool hair like that I am sure :-/. Sigh... I too am trying to grow out my "colored" gray, but mine is colored from bleaching out to yellow in the sun - both the remaining brown and the gray and there ain't nothin' worse than sun bleached gray...at least with my hair. Last year I got a great sun hat - maybe sloggers or something like that? - and that helped a ton!
ReplyDeleteI love your haircut and I love your face! Just beautiful; the last pic -- my absolute favourite!
ReplyDeleteI'm beginning to find some strands of grey in my fro. Hopefully when it grows up, it morphs into the fro version of the hair style you're aspiring to. <3
You are my hero, Tracey! I just did mine and regretted it. My vanity got the better of me. :(
ReplyDeleteYou are lovely, my long-distance friend. :)
I popped over here from the yarn along and thought I would see what more was here!
ReplyDeleteI love this. I am doing the same thing. I was actually thinking about posting about it after reading about another woman this morning who has decided to embrace the grey. I abused my hair for years. Time to give it a rest and let it shine, grey and all. :)
Your hair looks lovely, btw! The cut looks wonderful on you.
