WEEKENDING: LITTLE GLIMPSES

"Live with intention.
 Walk to the edge.
 Listen hard. Practice
wellness. Play with
 abandon. Laugh.
Choose with no regret.
 Appreciate your friends.
 Continue to learn.
 Do what you love.
 Live as if this is all
there is."

~Mary Anne Radmacher

weekending, my favorite part of the week. a time to relax, live, love, just to be. if you'd like to share your weekend either with words, photographs, or both, leave a link to a weekend post in the commentsJoining with Amanda for her weekending post.

:: Spent all afternoon
outside in the sunshine
learning to cable knit...
and once again wondering
why I was so scared to try
something...it's easy! Now
I want to knit this!

:: Sat in the sunshine
with my sixth 'child',
Twinkie and talked on
the phone with my 93
year old Grandfather.
He is a riot!

::Tried a new recipe.
The adults loved it,
the kids not so much.

::Put pecans in the
freeze for holiday baking.
Lots of fudge in my future.

:: Learned to make lotion
and now have the softest
skin.

:: Planted lots of broccoli.
OK, I watched lots of broccoli
BE planted :)

:: Watched murmuration and was
once again amazed at this world.

::Dreamed.
xx

    To answer your question on my post, a wet burrito is a regular burrito smothered in enchilada sauce and cheese. I can send you a recipe if you want! We LOVE them!

  8. dear tracey,
    what a lovely weekend! we've had rain and cloudy skies, but i've really been enjoying that.
    you can knit cables, i'm so glad you tried. isn't it amazing how something so complex looking is so simple to achieve? you can make a sweater like that!
    the recipe looks amazing, i love s.k. too.
    i want to make lotion too, but i'm out of beeswax right now. it sounds perfect though, amanda has the best ideas.
    and murmation! we've been watching it over and over. last night i shared it with my grandchildren when they came over for dinner, it began an entire conversation, they were so curious!
    have a wonderful week ahead, and thank you for your mail,
    xoxo lori

  9. Those sweet potatoes are amazing - I made them for last thanksgiving. Some of my kids even enjoyed them. Delicious!

    Cables - are you doing the cable headband? Looks somewhat familiar. So funny about cables - you know how I learned it recently, now I've chosen another cable project and am having trouble since they are very wide. And you...your next up sweater project...going from zero cabling to multitude cables. Yeah!

  14. Looks like you had a wonderful weekend! I was just working on a cabled hat last night and remembering how much I love cables. Maybe that will replace your sock addiction? And that sweet potato recipe with the goat cheese and cranberries looks delicious. I may have to give that a try.
