outside in the sunshine
learning to cable knit...
and once again wondering
why I was so scared to try
something...it's easy! Now
I want to knit this!
:: Sat in the sunshine
with my sixth 'child',
Twinkie and talked on
the phone with my 93
year old Grandfather.
He is a riot!
::Tried a new recipe.
The adults loved it,
the kids not so much.
::Put pecans in the
freeze for holiday baking.
Lots of fudge in my future.
:: Learned to make lotion
and now have the softest
skin.
:: Planted lots of broccoli.
OK, I watched lots of broccoli
BE planted :)
:: Watched murmuration and was
once again amazed at this world.
::Dreamed.
xx

Now that is my kinda week-end!
ReplyDeleteSounds like every moment occupied, Tracy.
ReplyDeleteMajor undertaking - that sweater.
hugs
i am amazed at people like you who grow things all year round. since i'm not really good at growing a garden i feel like i need to take a break so i can start fresh and newly motivated in the spring. :)
ReplyDeleteI would be very afraid of that cable knit - oooh that is a big project. Love the way your photos make me take a deep breath.
ReplyDeleteYou can knit that sweater!! I will be your knitting cheerleader :) The sweet potato recipe looks good and I think I would eat it. Great weekend!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great weekend! The cable knit looks great, you can do it!
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question on my post, a wet burrito is a regular burrito smothered in enchilada sauce and cheese. I can send you a recipe if you want! We LOVE them!
Pecans... sigh. I definitely can't wait to see the sweater, fabulous pattern choice! And murmuration... I've NEVER seen anything like it. Beautiful, breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Debbie
dear tracey,
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely weekend! we've had rain and cloudy skies, but i've really been enjoying that.
you can knit cables, i'm so glad you tried. isn't it amazing how something so complex looking is so simple to achieve? you can make a sweater like that!
the recipe looks amazing, i love s.k. too.
i want to make lotion too, but i'm out of beeswax right now. it sounds perfect though, amanda has the best ideas.
and murmation! we've been watching it over and over. last night i shared it with my grandchildren when they came over for dinner, it began an entire conversation, they were so curious!
have a wonderful week ahead, and thank you for your mail,
xoxo lori
Those sweet potatoes are amazing - I made them for last thanksgiving. Some of my kids even enjoyed them. Delicious!
ReplyDeleteCables - are you doing the cable headband? Looks somewhat familiar. So funny about cables - you know how I learned it recently, now I've chosen another cable project and am having trouble since they are very wide. And you...your next up sweater project...going from zero cabling to multitude cables. Yeah!
sounds lovely. and yes, knitting cables is easy! so funny how things seem so daunting but really aren't ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet and lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love your 6th kid. : )
Love all the pics today. Thank you for sharing!
I want to try that lotion too. Great xmas present, I'm thinking.
And...holy moley. That video. I put it on my "loving this now" immediately.
gorgeous photos, beautiful words.
ReplyDeletethat recipe looks divine!
oh i love all your pictures and am so jealous of your fall garden! i have not made my eggnog before but am willing to try....we love it! and lotion! i have been debating making some.can i top my favorite from the natural food store? your sixth child is darling!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a wonderful weekend! I was just working on a cabled hat last night and remembering how much I love cables. Maybe that will replace your sock addiction? And that sweet potato recipe with the goat cheese and cranberries looks delicious. I may have to give that a try.
ReplyDeleteI keep seeing Murmuration every where and I can't get enough--so spiritual isn't it?
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely weekend Tracey and your photos make me want to have a picnic and relax in the sun :). And hooray for cable knitting- you really are a fast learner!
