A GOAL

When you start with a portrait
and search for a pure form, a
clear volume, through successive
eliminations, you arrive inevitably
at the egg. Likewise, starting with
the egg and following the same
process in reverse, one finishes
with the portrait.

~ James Allen

There are 424 different species
of birds in South Carolina.
I have a goal of painting every
one of them on hollowed out
eggs.
Sixteen down...
408 to go!
Do you have a goal?

  5. You are amazing! What a goal, and they are so lovely. Thanks for the book recommendation, I'm going to check it out next! Has your son read The Mysterious Benedict Society series yet? That was also a big hit with Corey. I think we may read it out loud together with Molly...

  16. That is some goal! What a neat and artistic thing to do. How will you display them all once they're finished? And have you actually spotted most of them? That's even neater.

  17. I love that goal. I love goals in general, actually. As long as they don't get in the way of being in the moment as well.

  20. Wow...that's a loaded question, Tracey ;) I have many...though it seems the more I have the less I do. Maybe my goal should be not to have any goals. I don't know. Someday I'll get it right. These are lovely, by the way. Paint on!
