When you start with a portrait
and search for a pure form, a
clear volume, through successive
eliminations, you arrive inevitably
at the egg. Likewise, starting with
the egg and following the same
process in reverse, one finishes
with the portrait.
~ James Allen
There are 424 different species
of birds in South Carolina.
I have a goal of painting every
one of them on hollowed out
eggs.
Sixteen down...
408 to go!
Do you have a goal?
xx
Oh my goodness, that sure is one helluva goal
ReplyDeleteand they look absolutely gorgeous. I don't think I have a specific sort of goal like that.
You are so talented and i have to say this is one of the most original and mesmerizing artwork I have ever seen - truly sturnning.

ReplyDeleteYou are amazing! What a goal, and they are so lovely. Thanks for the book recommendation, I'm going to check it out next! Has your son read The Mysterious Benedict Society series yet? That was also a big hit with Corey. I think we may read it out loud together with Molly...
ReplyDeleteWow! That is awesome! I don't think my fingers could work on something so precise like that. Great job you have done :)
ReplyDeleteYou amaze me with your enthusiasm! I think I better come up with some kind of goal as well....I'll get back to you, okay?
ReplyDeleteWhat an artist you are!!! These are lovely! What will you do with the collection when you finish? Are you a birder as well as an extraordinary painter?

ReplyDeleteholy crap! Great goal.
ReplyDeleteThat is some goal! What a neat and artistic thing to do. How will you display them all once they're finished? And have you actually spotted most of them? That's even neater.
ReplyDeleteI love that goal. I love goals in general, actually. As long as they don't get in the way of being in the moment as well.
ReplyDeleteXOXO
