 Yesterday my guys took off on a
fishing trip and I tagged along to
hike, sit in the sun to knit and
just enjoy being outdoors.

Autumn Wrap [although with
temperatures in the 70's maybe
I should change the name to
Spring Wrap] is my travel
project. It is a project I only
work on when I am in the
truck/car or away for the house.
The pattern is sections of
garter stitch and sections
of stockinette stitch repeated
until you think it's big enough.
I am looking forward to
binding off soon and can't
wait to see how it looks
once it's blocked.

I am still reading
Chickens in the Road
and I just discovered the
author has a blog which
makes it nice to put faces
to names I've been reading.

 It has been a very good knitting week...
I am so happy to have cast on two
projects that have been on the back
burner for months.
First up is an Annabel Cardigan
using the yarn my daughter gave
me for Mother's Day [in May!].
I purposely held off on this cardigan
until now so I would have something
special to knit when my daughter
and her family moved. I do wish
I had known just how easy the
Annabel was to knit because I really
think it would make an awesome
first pattern for a new knitter. It
really is a wonderfully easy pattern.

I have also cast on a long time project
that I love, The Wonder Blanket. It
is a great way to use up all those little
bits of yarn and I find myself knitting
it for longer periods of time just so I
can see the color switch.

I am still reading Seven and just found
out it is Bloom's Book Club book so
there is a whole community reading
it. I am so thrilled to be able to watch
the author, Jen Hatmaker,  discuss
each chapter and how Jesus worked
in her heart. I am finding this book
to be life changing, in more ways
than one and I  am gearing up to live
my own version of Seven. It really is
exciting to see how the future will
unfold and where I will be lead,
my soul is alive!

WEEKENDING

Finally taking advantage of
a book that has sat on my shelf
unused for far too long and
began a nature journal.
Packed a basket with drawing
materials, a blanket and a
thermos full of iced coffee
taking a stroll down the dirt
road looking for just 'the spot'.
Temperatures have soared back
into the nineties making me
wonder if fall will ever arrive,
but I finally found a nice shady
area to spread my blanket,
enjoying  several hours of drawing,
there might have been a little
napping too.
After the weekly market trip
there was a quick stop at the
LYS for some needed supplies
for gift I want to make.
 Did you know Christmas
is in 113 days?
Today there will be knitting,
besides secret knitting I am
casting on an Annabel Cardigan
using the yarn   [#2415] 
I was gifted for Mother's Day.
Dinner will include these
because I have a craving.
I hope you are enjoying the
weekend and if you're in the US,
I hope you have a great
Labor Day.

This week another

 Pebble Tank, this time

in  green cotton. I am knitting 

a patch pocket to add to the
front of the tank along with an
antler button.
Really, I just want an excuse
to use one of the buttons I have
been working on for days.

My youngest son read
Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children
and ask if I would read it
so we could discuss a few points.
I must confess that at first I put off
reading this book, the cover isn't
that attactive, I thought the
book would be scary and not at all
what I enjoy reading, I was wrong.
The writing grabbed me on the second
page and I am  reading way past
my bedtime just because I want to
know how it all turns out.
Do you read out of your comfort zone?
