WEEKENDING IN DECEMBER

Awakened souls strengthen and encourage
Each other by their friendships and interchange
of thoughts. They create a network of light
over the planet And spin threads of mutual
upliftment and inspiration.

~ Vida Reed Stone

Oh this December is turning out
to be quite strange, it feels more
like April than December!

I have spent time hiking around the
property and sitting in the sun knitting.

I took a trip to Charleston, SC to do
a little Christmas shopping and was
pleasantly surprised to hear my name
being called in Barnes and Nobles; a
long time friend I was in high school
with recognized my voice and stopped
to chit chat for a few moments. I do
love happy moments shared with friends!

I picked up a few skeins of huge yarn
and a pair of size 50 needles to knit a
few chunky cowls. What a workout these
needles give you, hand me size 2 anytime.
While I finished the cowl in no time, it was
not the relaxing knitting I love at all.

My oldest son and his family surprised me
with a visit so I had some baby loving time,
made my heart happy.

I received a photo of Emerson in her Olie knit
hat. They were visiting an animal manger festival
that include not only goats, but reindeer! .

Tammy on  Instagram {I'm traceyclover}
posted that she had a coloring book on order,
a knitting coloring book, and I was so
intrigued that I was off to Amazon to take
a look, my copy will be here in a few days.
I wanted to let you know incase like me
you had no idea this existed.

MY WEEKEND

Hanging with old friends and
saying, 'remember when'?

The weekend has been filled with
playing with my camera and learning
all I can about  aperture.  I still have
a life time of learning photography
in front of me, there is so much I
need to learn, but it's fun so I don't
mind at all.

Eating lots of salads and smoothie bowls,
I add strawberries, almond milk, dates,
coconut oil, soaked raw cashews and
protein powder, then I top with goji
berries, raw pumpkin seeds, and chia
seeds. I can't wait for the blueberries
to ripen so I can try a smoothie bowl
with them. It is the perfect dish on
a warm day.

The best part of my weekend so far?
I met with a group of women, some
I haven't seen since high school. We
had the most enjoyable lunch, talking,
laughing, reminiscing, and just enjoying
being together.  Beautiful women who
I am glad are in this world and now
back in my life.

Today it's raining, I have a sock to knit,
a movie to watch and a book to read.
Oh, and maybe a nap to take. Enjoy
the rest of your weekend.

IS THE WEEK REALLY ABOUT OVER?

May my heart be kind,
my mind fierce and my
spirit brave.

I blinked and this week flew by.

I am still deep in the home cleanout,
and while it's going slower than I
would like, I am pleased at the end
results.  I have made three trips to
Goodwill so far this week and there
will be another tomorrow. With each
trip I make I feel a little lighter, it's a
good thing.

There were terrible thunderstorms
and lightening so bad I thought my
home had been struck. Thank goodness
no, but it was pretty scary.

I cried along with so many others
when the news of Robin Williams
suicide was revealed.  Heartbreaking.

This morning I woke to clear skies
and the scent of fall in the air, I know
it won't last, but I'm enjoying it while
it does.

I knit a hat for a son who does a lot of
work on an airport run way,
and I finished my shawl. I love this
shawl and plan to wear it a lot!

I have been teaching Daenerys
and Tyrion their names. I am
finding bantam chickens to be
so very sweet and can't wait to
hatch out a few more.

There are still figs everyday, but
they will be coming to an end soon.
They do make the heat of summer
a little more bearable and I've enjoyed
every one.

The mail delivered a Lady Cordelia orginal
and music to enjoy as I continue my
clean out. Wow! What an amazing talent
this woman has, I love her voice.

Amanda was kind enough to share the
pudding recipes she mentioned and
I just happen to have all the ingredients,
hooray, I love when that happens and
can't wait to try both puddings.

Okay, it's time to get back to work, but
first I want to wish you the best weekend,
stay happy and safe.

Love,
Tracey

SUNSHINE

There is sunshine in
my soul today!

~ Pinterest

Thank you all so much for the birthday
wishes, I passed each one on to Alex
and he too says thank you.

We had a fun time getting together
Friday evening, laughing, cooking,
enjoying the love as only a family
can. Even when a massive front
hit bringing thunder, dangerous lightening
and buckets of rain, we just moved
everything inside and continued on
with the celebration.

Saturday dawned with bright sunshine
and with it plans for the beach. A
good friend and I spent the day sitting
at the shore, soaking up the sunshine,
talking non stop. We strolled down to
a local restaurant to pick up lunch and
bring it back to eat on the beach. I'm not
sure what it is, but being at the shore
renews my spirit. It really was a perfect
day.

Today it's suppose to be really, really
hot!  I don't have any plans except
to knit, other than that I am just going
to go with the flow.

I hope there is sunshine in your weekend.

MEETING A TRUE FRIEND....AND OTHER HAPPENINGS THIS WEEK

 Hold a true friend with
both your hands.

~Nigerian Proverb

Do you know who this beautiful
lady is in the photo?
It's Karen and I was able to
spend a few hours with her
this week, my first time meeting
a blogging friend in person!
She is just as nice in person as
she is on line and my only regret
is she lives so far away making
it hard for me to visit with her more
often.
We had lunch, talked and I know
deep in my heart she is a true friend.
Look at the beautiful beaded bag she
made just for me!
Karen, I had such a lovely time, thank
you and I hope we can get together
again really soon.
 Emerson graduated from kindergarten,
and I am one proud Olie.
I've managed to make it to the
beach just once this week, but
I'm not complaining, it was
beautiful. I spent the day there
all by myself, knitting, reading,
napping, it was great.
This weekend will be cleaning out
a spare room that has gotten a  little
scary,  knitting,  cooking outside,
hanging out in the hammock, catching
a few clouds and enjoying this life!

I hope your weekend a productive one or a
relaxing one if that is what you need.

Love,
Tracey

YARN ALONG

It is one of the blessings of old friends
that you can afford to be stupid with them.

~Ralph Waldo Emerson

On my needles this week is Tauri,
a scarf that is 52 inches of garter
stitch and a little strap to tuck it
in. It's a great mindless knit,
perfect for car riding or movie
watching.

I am knitting this for Heather,
a friend who doesn't laugh at
me when I'm afraid to drive in
the rain and will come all the
way out to pick me up so we
can hang out together. It's nice
to have a friend who gets me,
do you have such a friend? I
hope so.

I am using Berroco Elements
and although I wasn't sure
I would like it I do.  The
yarn is squishy, has a nice
give and the drape is just
beautiful.

I'm still reading The Snow Child
before I fall asleep each night.

Joining with Ginny for this
week's Yarn Along.
