SOFT WORLD

"It is what I was born for-to look,
to listen, to lose myself inside this
soft world. "

~ Mary Oliver

It has been such a peaceful,
beautiful week.

The lilies are blooming,
and the blueberries are beginning
to slowly ripen.

I have been getting in over 10, 000
steps before breakfast which makes
me want to walk more and more just
to beat my number each day.

I discovered on lone apple growing
on the apple tree and I am keeping
a close eye on it..squirrels beware!

I have introduced dairy back into my
life and have been snacking on 'mock
cinnabon....cottage cheese, a drizzle of
maple syrup, lots of cinnamon and a
few tablespoons of chopped pecans.

Homemade toothpaste is a first for me,
but I must say I like it. It doesn't foam
like 'store bought' toothpaste, but I do
like how it cleans my teeth.

I knit a wee pair of socks for Porter,
and then woke very early so we
could drive two hours to deliver
them in person and to soak up a little
baby love.  Porter really is a sweet,
happy baby.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Much love,
Tracey
XO

  5. That 'cinnabon' recipe sounds good! I've never had an actual cinnabon but they smell soooo good. I have all the ingredients for your mock one so I think I'll give it a try.
Your little Porter is so adorable!

  7. two hours away?? I wish he was closer! I bet you inhaled that sweet baby smell and drank it all in. Lovely little socks, I've been keeping up with my walking in spite of the humid weather that I hate. (I know you have more heat and humidity which makes me admire your 10,000 steps...)

  10. Love your socks, Tracey. :) I've made and used my own tooth polish off and on for some time and always wonder why I don't always do so. Two hours? And I complain (I know, I shouldn't) about the 45 minutes I have to drive to see my grands... Have a happy weekend,
    xo Lisa

  12. We stopped using toothpaste about a month ago. We keep it very simple - just baking soda to brush with and then we rinse with a 50/50 water/hydrogen peroxide mixture with a drop of peppermint oil added. (for my husband - I'm fine without it) For the first week he said his teeth didn't feel clean, but I think that was just mental. He now said he doesn't miss toothpaste at all. (We were using Tom's of Maine, but wanted to get away from even that.)
That first lily picture is AWESOME Tracey!
