garden once you reach a certain
age, and I suppose there is a truth
in that. It's probably something to
do with the great circle of life."
~ Me Before You- Jojo Moyes
Thank you once again for
all the well wishes. I am
so happy to be back in
this space and visiting you
in yours. Yesterday I went
the whole day without having
to take the first pain pill- Hooray!
While there are still appointments
in my future, for now I am
feeling better so that is what I
am going to hold on to and not
worry about tomorrow.
While I don't have the energy
to garden I was able to take a
short stroll around the herb garden
to see how it's growing and I wanted
to show you what's on my needles.
I finally worked up enough nerve
to cast on Leaves of Grass, not
once, but twice. The first is being
knit on size 9 needles using worsted
weight yarn and will be a gift to
Christmas, just not sure who yet.
The second Leaves of Grass I am
follow the pattern and would like
to keep for myself, but then that
sounds selfish doesn't it? Oh, I'll
figure it out later, right now I am
just enjoying the whole knitting
experience. The disappearing cast
on still takes me awhile, but I think
it turned out okay. The charts are so
easy to read and it's nice to have
a fun project to look forward to
each day.
I have been enjoying the book,
from my sister. I have been warned
that it will make me cry, but then
I have handkerchiefs so I'm ready.

It's so good to see you back here Tracey and without the tablets...even better. I really have missed you. Welcome back.
ReplyDeleteI had to giggle at the quote...although I have to say that I've always been a garden person since I was a tiny nipper...but my appreciation gets greater every year.
I love the leaves of grass in the creamy winter white colour it will be a perfect gift. You deserve one yourself too. Take care of yourself and keep getting better every day.
Love and hugs.

so so so glad you are feeling better! Lovely knitting you got there, I bet it makes you feel good just to feel and look at those beautiful stitches. May you continue to have good health in the days ahead.
ReplyDeleteGreat book, I have it on my book shelf and I'm waiting a good moment to read it, as I know I'll cry and cry and cry
ReplyDeleteIt's good to "see" you! I love that green yarn - it looks just like the trees in the picture that follow it.
ReplyDeleteSo good to see you back here! I hope that you continue to improve! I absolutely love that green color! And your day lilies look gorgeous! Mine are a very bright orange, but I often want to add different colors to the mix :-)
ReplyDeleteLeaves of grass is my favorite thing i have ever knitted. I missed working on it when it was over!
ReplyDeletesuch beautiful photos of growth, dear tracey.
ReplyDeleteso happy you're beginning to feel better.

Welcome back to your beautiful space. Your ambitious knitting is inspiring me!
ReplyDeleteI'm really excited to watch your leaves of grass progress! I hope to knit it someday too. I continue to keep you in my prayers!
ReplyDeleteThis is excellent news! I'm so very, very glad to hear that you are doing better! I keep meaning to email you again, alas, I find myself drawn away from the computer lately. But I wanted to tell you that the math books arrived (thank you! thank you! thank you!).
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are feeling better! Leaves of Grass is such a beautiful shawl- I'm glad you are able to get started on it. :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're feeling better Tracey and that you were able to walk about the garden. I'm excited to see your Leaves of Grass when it's done - such a pretty pattern!
ReplyDeleteWow, that pattern is absolutely gorgeous. And you've decided to cast on two at once? You're a knitting superhero! :) So glad to have you back and hear that you are feeling better. I'm praying for continued healing and strength.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Debbie
Oh I loved working on my leaves of grass. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see you posting here again. Your knitting looks wonderful. It's not selfish at all to keep one of them for yourself! Do it! Keep it as a reminder that we are wrapping our arms around you from here and sheltering you as you heal and get stronger! blessings, friend...
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you're doing better!
ReplyDeletesuch wonderful news tracey, and i feel you should keep or gift whatever knits you want, always.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful knits and amazing pictures from your garden! Will have to go check out leaves of grass...
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're feeling better. I worried about you when I had caught up on your blog. Feeling pain is no fun and so miserable. And having all those drugs in your system. A detox smoothie will help yeah?
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's selfish that you wanna keep a LOG for yourself! DO it, Tracey. This is one involved project and will have beautiful outcomes. You deserve to have one as your own and think of what an embrace it would be around your body or how many picnics and knitting in the outdoors you can get in.
So happy to hear you are feeling better! The knitting looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're feeling better!! I know that it is hard with medication, but if you need it, don't wait til it's too late for the pain. I try to make it through the day with no pain pills too, but sometimes at night that is the only relief I get for having once again over done the day. I'm hoping to be back to my knitting self soon. I love your pictures of your herb garden. Makes me wish I had planted one myself!
ReplyDeleteGreat news Tracey! Such a great knit, one day I might give it a try :)
ReplyDeleteLovely knitting. I went over to look at that pattern it is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your two versions.
hi sweetie, it's SO nice to see you back in action.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to see what that book is all about right now.
much love to you pretty knitter.

ReplyDeleteSo glad to see you back. Hope your health continues to improve. I'm just a hop, skip and a jump away should you need anything. Take care of yourself and don't over do it.
