WEEKENDING

No one is useless in
this world who lightens
the burdens of another.

~ Charles Dickens

Oh these last few days!
My Mike has the flu so
I have been spending my
days making soup, pouring
juice, washing bedding and
towels and bleaching every-
thing that can be bleached.
It's pollen season here in
the deep south, but all of
my windows are open to
let in as much fresh air as
possible, I just keep dusting
as the pollen blows in.

Thankfully today seems to
be a turning point and I think
My Mike is on the mend, fingers
crossed!

I received some wonderful snail
mail from a dear friend across
the country [ Hi Lisa]

I played around with a branch
off of one of my blueberry
bushes and made a repair hook.

I've been knitting away, but can't
show you yet, it's a gift for Ginny,

I am trying to deal with the time
change, spring forward is not something
I am in favor of, so today I have been
gentle with myself, puttering around
and even taking a nap.

How has your weekend been?

  1. Sorry to hear your Mike has been sick. I hope he's on the mend and feeling better. We've had a good weekend. Got some 1/2 marathon training in yesterday, puttered around the house and watched a movie while the girls were at a play.Today we were able to go for a bike ride and enjoy time spent outside. This week is our spring break and my to do list is half a mile long - work and play. ;-)

  2. I am glad to hear your Mike has turned the corner and is feeling better. It was a great weekend here...I taught a soap making workshop, enjoyed time with friends, went hiking with my little man and spent some time doing a little spring tidy up around the yard.

Have a lovely start to your week Tracey.

  3. I'm glad your husband is on the mend. I think it's so cool how you whittled your own crochet hook! Lazy weekend here of sleeping in, big breakfasts, and lots of technology.

  4. It sounds like you have been taking good care of your Mike and it has paid off. Nothing like fresh air at this time of year, even if it contains a bit of pollen :).
Your photos are beautiful, as always.
Wishing you a most wonderful week ahead.

  8. Poor Mike. I hope he's doing better. Spring forward was rough here too. I was tired yesterday, but then couldn't sleep so overslept this morning. Ugh.
