YARN ALONG

But it is not bravery; I have no choice.
I wake up and live my life. Don't you do
the same?”

~ Anthony Doerr,
All the Light We Cannot See

I completed my first bottom
up sweater and really like how
it turned out. I am especially
pleased with the neck and button
bands, something I usually struggle
with, but this time they came out
on the first try.

I only did one button and that is
mainly for looks since I don't wear
my sweaters buttoned up . I also
added a pocket to keep a hankie in
if needed during the winter months.

This was my first time using Berlini's
Merino Xtra yarn and while I found
it to be a wee bit splittie, I love how
soft it became when I blocked it.

I am working on my socks and
Aise' [not pictured] and am trying
not to cast on anything else until
they are finished.  After these projects
that will only leave A Blanket in my
wip's basket and I know I won't be
working on it until the temperature
drops.  Now I just need to stay off
of pinterest and Ravelry, too much
temptation.

  7. Amazing pictures - as always! Your sweater came out great. I know it seems like a long time until you can wear it but the cooler weather will be here before you know it. Heck it's darn cold up here - I know, I know..... please send some of it down your way :-)

  9. I have not read that book, but it sounds like one I would love. I really enjoy reading stories set during that period. Congrats on finishing your sweater - I have yet to embark on such an ambitious project - toddler size project seem much more doable. And GREAT caterpillar shots with that pretty bokeh!

  23. Would you knit this construction again? Great outcome. That caterpillar is neat! I like its bright, neon colors and how it looks squishy. What kind of butterfly does it turn into?
