I finished my sock! Well, I
really finished two socks, but
the other one is blocking so
I didn't photograph it yet.
I am working on a sweater,
a rather plain sweater that
doesn't really have a pattern,
I am just winging it and hoping
for the best. This sweater started
out as Acer and while I did knit
both sleeves, I just couldn't get
my head around the pattern
and after starting over too many
times I realized it was time
to move on.
On my nightstand is Orhan's Inheritance
on the recommendation of the
Amazon Editors and I am so very
pleased. Orhan's Inheritance is
a beautifully written and intriguing
story that I wouldn't have picked
up on my own.

ReplyDeletewell I guess I'm adding another book to the list. Love your sock and I LOVE you are winging a sweater, it's the start of being a designer :)
ReplyDeletethose amazon editor's have gotten me several times, too!!! guess I need to add this one to 'the list'! Great sock! and now you are a designer. Is there anything you can't do????
ReplyDeletei love your pictures...i love how you are able to capture a bee's perspective on things !!! I too will have to check out your book...it sounds interesting,
ReplyDeleteYour sock turned out so nice. I love the colors.
ReplyDeleteAs always, your photos are so calming and beautiful. The detail on that little bee is amazing.
Gosh Tracey, as always your photographs are just stunning!! I love your new header! Great knitting projects, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe sock looks awesome Tracey! I am sure your sweater design will turn out well. Sometimes you just need to follow your own creativity instead of a pattern.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a talented knitter, artist / artisan, & photographer! I look forward to seeing how your sweater turns out. Your photographs are getting much more detail in them these days. LOVE this set!
ReplyDeleteYou are winging a sweater, yay! I did so too a few years ago and I have worn it a bit so good luck with yours! Love the sock too!!

ReplyDeletewonderful sock! that yarn is great. i cant wait to see how the sweater comes out.
ReplyDeleteSometimes winging it sweaters are the best Tracey- love the yarn. Beautiful new header so beachy- I am jealous of where you live. Love your socks!
ReplyDeleteLove that sock and how brave and clever to knit a sweater without a pattern! I wish I could do that. I love your photographs :)
ReplyDeleteGood job and congratulations on your socks! I started Acer, missed a cable on the back, and since it was knit in one piece, had to rip it out and knit almost the whole thing again. I love it though. Good luck with your winging process! When you end up with the sweater you really wanted, it's all good.
ReplyDeleteOoohhh! Love the photos! I can't believe the detail of the bee. Amazing. I just have my phone camera, but am craving a real camera. :-) The Acer pattern is beautiful, classic, maybe at a later date for you. I know what you're saying about when to move on with a knitting project.
ReplyDeleteThat sock looks really comfy. And cute too! I love that quote by Gandhi. I recently read about some sexual abuse allegations against Gandhi that I'd never learned about in history class and it made me think of him in a different light. Sigh. I still think he had a lot of good ideas, and like many people, I guess he had some bad ones too.
ReplyDeleteI love that ghandi quote.. I just saw it somewhere else a day or so ago. Bee pictures make me so happy!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Sock! You have an eye for taking great pictures.
ReplyDeleteOh I love the bee photo...so close. We've had lots buzzing around here recently and butterflies too, it's the best time of year. The sweater yarn too, I can't wait to see the finished cardigan.
ReplyDeleteHappy knitting,
debx

ReplyDeleteThose little cablings are pretty. Those are some snazzy gold plated needles there.
ReplyDeleteHi Tracey, thank you for stopping by my blog and welcoming me back online.♥ Your flower and honeybee photos are gorgeous--they make me happy just looking at them. And, that sock looks soooooo soft and cozy. Can't wait to see your sweater when it's done.
ReplyDeleteTracey, I could study the stitches and tones of knitted ribbing for a long time. What a great closeup. Lovely photographs. ;^)
ReplyDeleteAmazing pictures Tracey - awesome that you got her hovering in mid-air!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo for finishing two socks! Love your photos, as always. Bees! xo
