I loved getting to spend time
with Emerson, my granddaughter,
even if it was only for a little while.
She left early Saturday morning,
and with my Mike working and
Alex away on for a bachelors
fishing weekend for his brother,
I have had the house to myself.

There was the some house loving
and bedding to wash, the vacuum
cleaner saw some action, along
with the dust cloth. Is my home
the only one that seems to grow
dust daily? It's a never ending
battle. I even scrubbed the kitchen
floor [always on my hands and
knees, it's my way].

The weather this weekend was
perfect! Sunshine, cool breezes
and no bugs, I'll take it. It felt
so good to hike for hours.

I stayed up way too late knitting
on several projects and watching
old movies.  Have you seen Mr. Lucky?
Cary Grant learns to knit! It's worth
watching just for the knitting scenes
and I love movies that make me laugh
out loud.

I discovered a new potato chip which
may not be a good thing. ;)  and a new
dish to prepare for lunch...it's wonderful!

My guys are all now home and I'm
prepared for a new week; it's going
to be a good one!

  1. What beautiful tree photos, Tracey! We don't have Spanish moss up here and though I think I understand it's a parasite, it sure is pretty to see. Sounds like you had a great weekend. I have NOT seen Mr Lucky, not yet anyway ;) And yes, I agree, washing the floors on hands and knees is the best way to a good clean floor (which means I should probably do it that way more often...) Wishing you a great start to your week! xo

  2. The house to yourself, how wonderful! Happy to hear you had some cooler weather and could hike for hours...I guess that toe is much better. That pumpkin recipe looks divine.

Have a lovely start to your week.

  4. Beautiful photos Tracey! I love those trees covered in Spanish moss! Our house didn't see a lot of action this weekend, most of our time was spent outside. Which of course means I'll have to make up for it this week... :-)

  5. You have the best trees. I can just see the comfort of reading under one of those lovelies. Beautiful images Tracey. I am so trying that lunch dish- that is a great blog-- thanks for the tip.
Wishing you a great weekend ahead.

  6. I love that term "house loving" not "house cleaning." I also enjoy old movies. Have a great week. I know you will!

  7. The tree looks beautiful! Is it a weeping willow? If it is, that tree is one of my favorites! It seems like you had a wonderful weekend!

  9. Those potato chips look amazing! Also - the pumpkin recipe I must try. Someone ever so kindly reminded me that there are only 10 Fridays left until Christmas so I have a feeling I will be staying up late to knit soon too. I haven't seen that movie yet – I'll have to check it out. Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend Tracey!

  10. I love that quote Tracey. Those trees look magical with their white head of foliage hair. I don't remember Mr Lucky but must have seen all of Cary Grant's films in the past. I must try to see it again sometime just to check out the knitting scene.
I spent ages writing a comment on your last post and then there was a click and it disappeared and I didn't have time to do it again. I will email you some time if that's ok.
    Happy week,
    debx

  11. Oh my hand and knee washing floor days are over, but I must say it's the cleanest way to go :) I love that you had E with you and I know you are savoring each second you two are together. I've been playing catch up today and so far I am winning!

  12. Oh, another thing we have in common - I scrub the floor on my hands and knees too - even when I was pregnant! It is the only way to get it clean I think, otherwise you're just pushing dirt around. And dust, come to my house! Dog hair, woodstove ash, and normally some kind of construction dust. But a little dirt is good for us!

  13. What an amazing tree! I'm not a big mop person either. Lovely photos.

  14. Sage advice from a tree. They grow tall and proud. Their branches grow the way they want. They're deeply rooted to earth. And they take so much abuse but keep on growing.
Chips are one form of kryptonite for us.
