A good laugh,
and a long sleep
are the two best
cures for anything.

This has been a sad week and
I am thankful it's a short one.
We lost our dog Amy [I posted
about her here]. to cancer; I
miss her.
It has been miserable hot and the
humidity has been so heavy you
can wear it. I'm glad to be surrounded
by water so I can head to the beach
when it all becomes too much.
Winter can't come soon enough
for me.
The blueberries are still in season
so berry picking has been added
to my daily to do list. There is a
granddaddy long leg that greets
me every morning, I call him Van,
[after Van Johnson].
I always pick figs on the 4th of July,
but this year the figs aren't even showing
signs of ripening. I have not been
able to follow my food gathering
schedule at all this season. Crazy
weather.
I exhaled deeply that the first hurricane
of the season will miss us, but I am
sorry for all those who are in its path
and I hope it doesn't cause much damage.
I ordered new glasses which will be in
next week. It will be so nice to see the
world a little more clear.
Tomorrow it the 4th of July and I wish
you all a safe and fun day. Enjoy the
long weekend.
Love,
Tracey
XO
So sorry to hear about your dog. It is never easy to let the furry ones go. Have a good long weekend, take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteGentle hugs,
Maria
Hope you and your family have a great holiday weekend. I miss you all so much. ......especially the talks we used to have Tracey! Love you all! Stephanie
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your dog. Losing a family animal friend is rough. It is super hot here too...the heat stings the skin. Like you, I am already looking forward to the cooler temps of winter. The best things about summers in Arizona is that they are followed by beautiful winters! Hope things cool down for you and you have a good Independence Day!
ReplyDeleteOh Tracey, I am so sorry about Amy. Sending you lots of love and hugs.
ReplyDeleteHeat and humidity have been here too, although we had a cold front move in last night. Cooler temps for another day and then they start rising again.
Enjoy your long weekend. xo
Big hug Tracey- I am very sorry for your loss- that must be so incredibly hard. I am so sorry for you and your family- she sure was a beautiful dog.
ReplyDeleteLove your images today- very pretty macros, also your new header. I am glad that you are out of the storms path ( that must be really scary!)
Have the best weekend you can have. Thinking of you
xo
So sorry to hear about Amy. We lost our old cat Bo a few years ago to cancer as well... such a hard process to go through. You just want to tell them, explain what is happening. They just know it is coming to an end. I'm glad she was loved til the end, but I'm sorry for your grief and loneliness. xo
ReplyDeleteWe adopted two male Corgis as senior citizens, and both of them died of cancer within 3 years of us adopting them. It is very difficult. The house always seems much quieter for a while.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture of the daddy long legger, even though they creep me out! The stink bugs have left our house and they seem to have moved in.
so sorry for your loss. big hug!
ReplyDeleteSorry to read about your dog. She had a long, great life with you. How lovely to be surrounded by great beaches. Ours here in the city is cold, debris full sand, and dangerous undertow.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss. I hope the beauty around you that you have so beautifully captured in your photographs will help you through this sad time.
ReplyDeleteSad to read about your dog - such a loss leaves a big hole xx
