THE START OF A NEW YEAR

The goal of life is to make your heartbeat
match the beat of the universe, to match
your nature with Nature.

~Joseph Campbell

H-e-l-l-o!

I have missed being in this
space and am so happy to
be back.

Christmas and New Year's
were both quiet, and the
start of 2014 is already
unfolding nicely, although
I do have a terrible, nasty
cold I am doctoring which
has put a slight halt to my
cleaning out plans.

My days have been full
with finally breaking down
and buying a new computer
after my other one crashed
for the finally time. Windows
8 is taking me a little time to
maneuver around, but I am
having a great time learning
all the new in's and out's.

There have been many long
walks just to enjoy being out
in the beautiful  winter air;
all I need to make it perfect is
snow! So far all we have had
is just rain. It is going to dip
 to 14 degrees tomorrow
night which I don't think we
have ever seen here...oh dear!

Knitting is always part of each
day and using new yarn tools
is especially nice.  I ordered
a new poster to hang on the
wall and now need to find just
the right frame. Isn't it fun?

My favorite five year old spent
some time here while her parents
had a little vacation, one they
dreamed about the whole time
my son in law was in Afghanistan
and one they deserved.

Emerson had a cold, but we still
managed to make some memories,
ones I hope mean as much to her
as they do to me. I can not believe
how much love I feel for this little
person!

Tomorrow we are back to our normal
schedule, school, work, living.
I hope you are warm, comfortable
and safe as super cold weather makes
its way across the country.
Have a peaceful and gentle start to
your week.

Love,
Tracey

  10. I have such strong memories of time spent with my grandmother when I was little - I'm sure Emerson will remember these times with you forever.

If I could mail snow to you, I would! :)

  14. Oh! We are all so happy to have you back! I'm sorry about the cold, but...as you know, I was hit hard too. I look at it as a New Years cleansing, purging, what have you. Looking forward to 2014 with you.

  15. It sounds like you had a great time with your favorite 5 year old. At least with the weird crazy weather you can wear your hand knits!

  17. These are lovely photos. It’s good to see that you and your niece had a great time together, even though you encountered a problem with your computer. I hope your new computer will not crash immediately. Or if any problem comes up, I hope it can be easily repaired.
