A YARN ALONG

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.
It turns what we have into enough,
and more. It turns denial into acceptance,
chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It
can turn a meal into a feast, a house
into a home, a stranger into a friend.
Gratitude makes sense of our past,
brings peace for today and creates a
vision for tomorrow.

~Melody Beattie

An early morning bike
ride found me at the
massive old oak, the
biggest on the property,
and one of my favorites.
With a long list of knit
gifts on my Christmas
list, I am not going any-
where without needles
close by so I sat for
a while enjoying the
great weather.

I finished one of the
fingerless mitts that is
on my gift giving list,
along with a few inches
of the Corkscrew scarf
I am making for one
of my sister's. The
yarn is Paton's Bamboo Silk
in Ivory and I love it, it
is super soft and smooshy.

I am hoping since I took
these photos yesterday
morning that by the
time you read this the
Brown Annabel wil be
off the needles and in
the stack waiting for buttons.
I had planned on having
all but one sweater done
by the weekend, but I became
a little sidetracked. It's really
okay though,  it's all knitting!

My reading this week has
mostly been high school
biology, but I am finding
time for listening to a
book while I knit. This
week I listened to
Rob Lowe's, Stories I Only Tell My Friends
and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The thing that impressed me
most about Mr. Lowe was
how he never put anyone down,
just telling the story of his
upbringing with honesty and
sincerity.

For all of my American friends
I wish you a peace filled Thankgiving
tomorrow and for all my other
friends I wish you the same too. :)

  14. I adore your gratitude quote (our christian ed women did our sermon last week on gratitude----I'm goin to share this with them....they'll love it, too!)

and all your knitting!!! I hate that I don't even look at chunky patterns--not a chunky knitting kind of knitter, but of course, I HAVE some chunky yarn that somehow got in my stash-----and it's going to be turned in to some of those fingerless mitts!!! LOVE THEM!!!

Hope you have a great gathering tomorrow!! Hugs!
