NEEDLES AND NIGHTSTAND

Slowly at last the heavy clouds, charged with the welcome water, roll up from seaward; the air grows sultry and still; the creatures of the grove and jungle keep their coverts, as if expectant, like the surface of the soil; there is a hush over all things, as though nature herself were faint; till presently the lightning flashes and the thunder rattles, and down, as if really from heaven and from the hand of God, comes the thick and fresh rain. Then there rises from the ground a cool and penetrating aroma, the scent of the dry soil saturated... ~Daily Telegraph, quoted in A Cyclopædia of Nature Teachings, 1892

Another Lovey Dovey
this time in wool, the
other is a little too long,
but I think it will work.

I've moved on to the
last of my Mary Karr
stack and opened the
pages of Lit. This book
may turn out to be my
favorite!

A little giveaway if your
interested.

Joining up with Ginny
for this week's Yarn Along.

  2. Nice vibrant colours. I'm working in similar ones at the moment but have left my camera in London so can't join in for Yarn Along again. It's a shame because I was too busy last week.

I hope Lit is all that you expect.

    Happy reading and knitting.

  24. Pink & green! I remember having a pale pink gingham dress with an appliqued flower in green and white. My mother sewed it for me (she sewed quite a bit now that I think about it). Will we see your granddaughter modeling this one? (and how long was the other one? too too long or just a little long? perhaps she can grow into it)

  32. i vacillated a while on which karr was my fave. i think (though don't hold me accountable as i'm fickle and like to change my mind) it goes like this: the liars' club, lit, cherry. ask me tomorrow though and it might be: lit, the liars' club, cherry.
