{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo -no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. xx
what an artistic shot! very cool! btw, in your yarn along photo, is that rosemary blooming? i've always wanted to put rosemary blossoms on cake frosting, but i have rosemary in pots and it never blooms. maybe it's too cold here? do you have an idea?
Sylvia, It is a rosemary that I planted about 15 years ago. It has grown to almost 7 feet! I am not sure why it blooms like it does, but it is planted near pine trees so I think it likes the acidic soil. My Mother-in law has one in her yard, but it doesn't bloom like mine. You can buy inexpensive soil testers to check the ph of your soil. I do know that herbs like lots and lots of sun. I hope that helps a little.
Not sure if this will help, but we have rosemary outside in pots during the summer. When we bring them in for the winter, after about a week they are covered with blooms. Thought it might be the sudden change in 'climate'.
How sweet is that! What a contrast between delicate and harsh. here's our moment: http://littlehomesteadinthedesert.blogspot.com/2012/02/this-moment.html
I love it! The little plastic truck and the large piece of farm equipment (a disc? Dixon harrow? I can never remember...) illuminated by the winter's sun-lovely!
Great combo of the big and the little...(hope it doesn't get smashed! Have a great weekend! (Yes, it is warm here, too. Great for the park but not so good for the woolens. :)
Great juxtaposition, although, I have to admit it makes my heart beat a little bit faster to see anything child-related next to big ol' farm equipment. :)
Ahhh just look at that, such a lovely photo!
ReplyDeleteOh so cute. Lovely shot.
