Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Linking with GInny
This post is the sequel to last week's post.
I ended up frogging my whole cardigan,
there was a dropped stitch and I really
need to practice the p1 f/b increase
before I begin again. I did end up
ordering Addi Lace Needles and just
the little bit I've played with them has
been fun! I think I have found my
new favorite needle!
I am a little futher along on
my sock, but it is slow to show
progress and I have come to
accept that these will be under
the Christmas tree and not
beside a birthday cake.
I finished the Valentine
Toddler hat and now just
need some cold weather so it
can be worn.
I am to the toe decrease on
my son's birthday socks and
would be finished except he
has size 12 feet [he is 6' 2'' ,
220 lbs] and I want the socks
to fit comfortable so I have
added several inches to the
pattern.
I am so excited about my book
this week, it is The Knitter's Home Companion.
The UPS guy showed up mid
afternoon on Tuesday and
since then I have been slowly
absorbing the contents. It has
patterns, recipes, stories, and
book recommendations. I am
loving it! The author, Michelle
Edwards states that 'Knitting is
not just a metaphor, Knitting is
a Life' ... I agree!
What have you been up to this
week?
Really enjoy these posts, Tracey. Love the little hat... so pretty!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty colours, and thank you for using 'frogging' - I've never heard that before!
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy. Love the little hat. I've just finished another little dress, this time for my nephews new little daughter.
ReplyDeletethe book sounds really interesting :) ...too bad about the cardigan
ReplyDeletebut good luck with the socks :) - I will knit a pair of socks for myself this year - that's my new resolution :)
Hi Tracey,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your lovely comment:) I am so sorry you had to frogg your cardigan, the Valentine toddler hat looks so beautiful and the sock looks so soft. Oooh, the Knitter's Home Companion does sound like something I am going to have to buy, I love the author's quote, too true.
Happy day to you:)
Linda
My daughters gave me some of those needles for Christmas...they went in to buy me some circular needles and the clerk talked them into giving me them...she told them they were the BEST...I haven't had a chance to try them yet but hope to get back to knitting soon. Don't know how you get so much done. I love that hat..so sweet!
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling hat! I just love the flower. Sorry about the frogged cardigan, but glad you like your new needles. Great book - never heard of it but it looks so cozy!
ReplyDeleteLovely projects, love the stripy socks and the hat is beautiful. Have just finished some handspun socks, more to cast on now too.
ReplyDeleteLove the little hat! And your photos are beautiful! That book sounds like a delight - will definitely have to add it to my list!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the book recommendation, Tracey, I will go check it out!
ReplyDeleteToo bad about the cardigan. Actually, I should have practiced some increases before going into the Fisherman's Pullover, but I'm finishing it now, Spencer won't mind and I might cast on a second one at some point.
The knitting book looks very good too! Enjoy reading it!
I love the name of your new needles. "Amazing turbo needles" - I get it, I'd love them just for their name!
ReplyDeleteLovely knitting as always, so much happening. And the book sounds fabulous as well.
Wow, you've been busy... The hat is adorable and the socks look great! Thank you for the book recommendation, sounds like something I would really enjoy reading.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable little hat!! Love the posey! Sorry about the cardi, but, hey!! you just found more knitting, and that has to be a good thing. (Really getting your $$$ worth from this year.)
ReplyDeleteMust find that book!!! Looks like fun.
You have some lovely projects and a sweet book keeping you occupied!!!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about the cardigan, that is not fun at all. You have so many lovely projects going on and you will have to let me know if your needles make you knit faster :)!
ReplyDeleteGreat projects. Will look for A Knitters Home Companion, it sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI need to reorder that lovely little book from my library. Tracey, I love how you photographed your knitting among the green plants (clover? not sure what that is). For some odd reason, that Tiny Tim song is in my head - tiptoeing through the tulips...
ReplyDeleteHmm that book sounds interesting. Love your Valentine's knit. I know we so need some cold weather. Look at all of that green in your yard.
ReplyDeleteAddi Turbo's are my faves. Good for you for making the sock a Christmas gift. It's definitely a way to be kind to yourself. Knitting is a way of life indeed.
xo,
Ang
I love the flower on that little hat! And that sounds like an awesome book. I'll add that one to my must-read list.
ReplyDeletei can’t knit but i would LOVE to roll in your clover! all that green is just luscious!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to see if my library ever gets that book in. It sure looks good.
ReplyDeleteI love your knits this week.
The Knitter's Home Companion eh? Sounds like I need to gift myself with another present!
ReplyDeleteIt's good to be back Tracey. Clover goes with coffee in the morning, did you know that? My coffee didn't taste right! :)
Blessings, Debbie
Knitting is life :) I love the hat - it's adorable!
ReplyDeleteLovely.....
ReplyDeleteMuch love
Those stripy socks look divine! Great colours. And that book looks like it could be a good read.
ReplyDeleteOh, the Valentine hat is adorable! And your crocheted flower turned out much sweeter than mine did last week. I just need a little more practice.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Knitting is life! I am surrounded by people with large feet, so I can completely understand the time it takes for your son's socks. Hope the restart with new needles is the trick for your sweater.
ReplyDeleteThe hat, the socks, the book... it's all lovely!
ReplyDeleteVery cute hat and thanks for the book recommendation. It sounds great!
ReplyDeleteThe Valentine hat is sweet, Tracey. I love those Addi needles, too. This week I have been knitting a silk scarf for myself, which is very difficult to do! I have to keep reminding myself it is okay to make something for me :o)
ReplyDeleteThe little Valentine hat is adorable. Everything looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos in the clover, Tracey!
ReplyDeleteLove your photos, and that hat is just adorable!!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely projects and such luscious pictures! Love the clover!
ReplyDeleteRemember that really simple movie star/ Florida scarf I started a few weeks ago? Well I frogged that whole thing too. Working with lace yarn is HARD. It's so small and dainty! I will have to look into those needles, pointier is good! But the Abigail cardi is beautiful, and look forward to seeing yours done one days soon!
ReplyDeleteThe Valentine hat is adorable! And I just put Knitter's Home Companion on the list :).
xo
