WEEKENDING

At times you ought to stay alone,
I make so bold as to  advise
And just be friendly with your soul-
Your soul will miss you otherwise.

~ Rebecca McCann

weekending, my favorite part of the week. a time to relax, live, love, just to be. if you'd like to share your weekend either with words, photographs, or both, leave a link to a weekend post in the commentsJoining with Amanda for her weekending post.

With everyone out of the house
there has been some much needed
quiet time for me to just piddle
around doing little jobs that probably
only I notice, cleaning out a
junk drawer, reorganizing
the kitchen office, finally weeding
the herb bed. Then I sat in
the sun [with the temperature
being 72 degrees] and knit the
afternoon away. I enjoyed a
huge [serving bowl size] salad
eaten by candle light, reading
The Knitter's Life List, this is
a book I know I will continue
to enjoy for many years to come.
Went to bed way too late and
then slept past sunrise, something
I rarely do.

Sunday has been quiet meditation,
a long walk and now I have
plans with a movie and
a bowl of popcorn. My family
will return this evening so
I am going to enjoy the
quiet a little longer before I
soak in lots of missed
family time.

I hope you are having a
wonderful weekend.

  6. I always enjoy a little quiet time to myself - rarely though, and never more than an hour or so, but precious time nonetheless.

  12. I love to "piddle" when there is no=one else in the house too! So fun. Glad you enjoyed your "staycation"! I looked up Knitters Life List on Amazon and it looked like one I need to add to my collection. Thanks for the suggestion.

  16. I just have this feeling you and I would get along just fine.
I treasure my alone time too. Alone from family I don't need much, it's alone time from the rest of the world that I need sometimes.
