At times you ought to stay alone,
I make so bold as to  advise
And just be friendly with your soul-
Your soul will miss you otherwise.

~ Rebecca McCann

weekending, my favorite part of the week. a time to relax, live, love, just to be. if you'd like to share your weekend either with words, photographs, or both, leave a link to a weekend post in the commentsJoining with Amanda for her weekending post.

With everyone out of the house
there has been some much needed
quiet time for me to just piddle
around doing little jobs that probably
only I notice, cleaning out a
junk drawer, reorganizing
the kitchen office, finally weeding
the herb bed. Then I sat in
the sun [with the temperature
being 72 degrees] and knit the
afternoon away. I enjoyed a
huge [serving bowl size] salad
eaten by candle light, reading
The Knitter's Life List, this is
a book I know I will continue
to enjoy for many years to come.
Went to bed way too late and
then slept past sunrise, something
I rarely do.

Sunday has been quiet meditation,
a long walk and now I have
plans with a movie and
a bowl of popcorn. My family
will return this evening so
I am going to enjoy the
quiet a little longer before I
soak in lots of missed
family time.

I hope you are having a
wonderful weekend.

  3. Sounds very much like my weekend dear Tracey...just lovely.
    Much love to

  4. Perfect, Tracey - nice to get just a little time to yourself. It sounds as if you are nicely recharged.. I think we should swap weather for a couple of days though:). xxx

  5. I love popcorn too! It is so much quieter now that I have one out of two children home...

  6. I always enjoy a little quiet time to myself - rarely though, and never more than an hour or so, but precious time nonetheless.

  7. I do love time on my own and then I seem enjoy the return of the family with new relish.

  9. i forgot to tell you i recieved that book for christmas! it's so good!
your weekend sounds perfect to me. i was going to have the same alone time, but the big surf changed that. fun in a different way.

  10. Getting those little jobs done feels so good, doesn't it? Enjoy your quiet time!

  11. Your weekend sounds delightful! I love Sabrina... and it has to be the original for me!

  12. I love to "piddle" when there is no=one else in the house too! So fun. Glad you enjoyed your "staycation"! I looked up Knitters Life List on Amazon and it looked like one I need to add to my collection. Thanks for the suggestion.

I treasure my alone time too. Alone from family I don't need much, it's alone time from the rest of the world that I need sometimes.

  17. What a great weekend alone! Those little things matter so much (even if no one notices). I've been day dreaming of a girls crafty weekend myself lately.

  18. Oh wow what a wonderful weekend! How I dream of having a weekend like this! And that book looks wonderful, it's now on my list.
