YARN ALONG

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Linking with Ginny

Along with all the
secret elf knitting
I have going on in the
middle of the night
so no one can see,
I have been knitting
hats, lots of hats!
I learned the wee one
didn't have a hat and
with cooler weather
finally arriving I cast
on Cotton Candy Toddler Hat.
It was a super quick
and I cast on and off
in one day. I tried teaching
myself to crochet a flower,
but after four hours I
gave up and just did
the knit one. I like the
look of crocheted flowers
better, but I know my
limits and crocheting is
just not working for me.
I am also knitting several
Hat's Fit for a Boyfriend,
except my husband
would frown if I had a
boyfriend so I am knitting
for my son's and son-in law.

I am still very slowing
savoring White Truffles in Winter
and have a feeling I
will be for awhile.
When paragraphs read like
this:
"To make southern fried chicken
properly, you must add a bit of
your true self-the history of the
dish demands it. You must bring
your heart. "
there is just no way I
can rush through.

  1. On your recommendation, I downloaded White Truffles in WInter, and I agree...it's a book to be savored. I read about a chapter before bed--just enough to dream about food!!! (Great--just what I need at this time of year!)
The hats look super on your people!!!! (I'm not much of a crocheter, either. I've used a knit flower called dahlia that I like a lot for hats. Your choice looks perfect for yours--and purple and pink--can't miss with that combo!)

  3. Love the hats! I admire you trying the crochet. I can crochet but just do not like it as much as knitting...I think you are officially a knitter and an expert one at that :)

  7. I do love that paragraph. Yes there is no rushing through a book like that. How in the world are you knitting all of those hats and staying up to knit late at night and trying to teach the young one to make flowers?! Wow!

  25. Thank you so much for your nice comment on my blog! It's funny that you say you envy my crocheting; I began crochet because I can't get the hang of knitting! My hands are slow to learn things, but I'm getting the hang of crochet now (I took a class last year to get me started). Maybe some day I will learn to knit. Your hats are great!
