  5. i've just been trying to think about what i'd want to say. i'm deeply moved, sad and angry when i look at these photos. my sister is a young survivor, going through a mastectomy and chemo all in her early 4o's. my mother too was a survivor of breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy and chemo. as different as night and day are the two of them. my mother felt the need to show me her scars. again and again. without understanding i understood her need. my sister is private, but wears her pink ribbon necklace every day. and we both make our monthly donations (i raise mine through my esty shop). this always breaks my heart.
