~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Joining with Ginny.
After an oops beginning,
I was able to finally join
in the round and knit a
little vest because I just fell
in love with the one Amanda
knit for her Nacho. This will
be a Christmas gift for the
wee one here and I hope
to knit a few more before
the season arrives.
On the needles now is a
simple baby vest/singlet.
I am using wool in the
color called Little Lamb
and I love how it knits
and how it feels-soft!
The pattern is very basic,
but I altered it just a little.
It calls for knitting the
ribbing back and forth in
garter stitch and then
joining for the body and
coming back to sew the
ribbing. I went ahead
joined in the round from
the beginning and am
now ready to cast off for
the sleeves.
I finally ordered The Help,
but was only able to
read two pages before
I feel asleep so I am
going to hold my opinion
until I actually read more
of the book. xx
Hi Tracey, your knitting looks so neat. A beautiful vest similar to one I have been knitting I think.
ReplyDeleteLove the little vest! If you are altering a pattern then you are one experienced knitter!! You are going to LOVE the Help. One of my faves!
ReplyDeleteThe wool you're using definitely looks so soft. I wish I could reach over and touch it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday!
I loved The Help; I think you'll love it too! So....did you ever spill the beans on who's baby that sonogram picture was of?
ReplyDeleteI thought the vest looked a little like the Pebble Vest. I have knitted many of them. I like this version too. Love the yarn you have knitted it in. I loved The Help. It is coming out here very soon in the cinemas. I think I might have to go and see it. I just hope it is as good as the book. Jacinta x
ReplyDeleteI loved the Help too, just finished it in time for the movie. I couldn't put it down!! I hope you enjoy it :). Your knitting is beautiful as is your yarn choice. Always love your yarn choices ;).
ReplyDeleteI like the heathered look of the vest. I need to graduate and knit one in the round. Mine so far have just been on straight needles. I like knitting in the round better. Have any tips?
ReplyDeleteLove your knitting - and yet another organized Christmas knitter today, I'm in awe!
ReplyDelete"The Help" was great. I want to see the movie now...but I saw the previews and they pretty much give away the whole story.....I hate when that happens.
ReplyDeletei love that baby vest too!
ReplyDeleteI'll look forward to your review of The Help. And so seeing how that little lamb turns out. Congrats on "in the round" knitting! I love it when I don't have to taper off to four double pointed needles. Otherwise, I'm still a "flat" knitter ;-).
ReplyDeletethe vest looks great Tracy! Nice work.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, soft baby knits... I love the heathery gray and the fluffy white. It will just make holding that baby all the more sweet!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Dbbie
I love the color of that vest! I had The Help since it was in hardback, my lovely sister sent it to me, and i have yet to read it! :( i have heard it is awesome.

I loved The Help as well. The knitting looks great. Love the vest!
ReplyDeletepebble! i think she'll love it. and the help was a fantastic read - that said, i have no desire to see the movie or fake southern accents!
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty colors! And I agree with Amanda, the book was amazing but the movie looks unpromising. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI just ordered "The Help" as well!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the vest. Perfect photos!
XO

ReplyDeleteand wasn't the nacho adorable in his vest. ; )

The vest is too cute. I love, love, love the color. So rich.
ReplyDeleteYou are superfast with those needles and supertalented. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the Pebble vest! I will have to try sone soon. I read the Help and was pleasantly surprised...usually I steer clear of bestsellers...but this was a good one. Now I'm actually looking forward to the movie coming out!
ReplyDeleteVery cute!
