WEEKEND: ENGAGEMENT

"Love is what carries you,
for it is always there, even
in the dark, or most in the dark,
but shining out at times like
gold stitches in a piece of embroidery. "

~ Wendall Berry

weekending, my favorite part of the week. a time to relax, live, love, just to be. if you'd like to share your weekend either with words, photographs, or both, leave a link to a weekend post in the comments.
This weekend was...

A diamond ring and
a marriage proposal
with her saying yes.
Oldest son being the
happiest I have ever
seen him! A very
early trip to the market
to beat the crowds and
being home before the
rest of the house even
woke. Quiet afternoon
to knit [almost done with
my sock] and to read
[almost done with my
book too]. Sunday dawned
to find one of my lawn
chair cushions torn across
the yard by a dog that is
lucky I love him. Then to
find my refrigerator not
working and everything
starting to thaw from the
freezer section. Thank
goodness for a handy
beloved who knows how
to fix things! It was up and
running before lunch. Picking
blueberries and realizing the
season will end this week.
Making plans for the fall garden
that needs to be planted
in a few weeks.  Monday
was quiet since the thirteen
year old is sick with
a flu bug. We watched
Unknown and
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Roddrick Rules
We napped and then the grill was
lit and fresh watermelon was sliced.
The fireworks and s'mores
have been put on hold until
next weekend.

How was your weekend?
Joining  Amanda @ the habit of being.

  3. Congratulations to your DS!! What a full, full weekend. So glad the frig/freezer is functioning again! Boo flu and the end of blueberry season. Strawberries are just starting here! I love sneaking out of the house while everyone's asleep and returning before they wake...it seems so...sneaky ;-).

  14. Congratulations!! There is nothing better than knowing your child has found their life partner. The person that they will love and will love them forever... What a special time!

Sorry that your 'baby' was ill for the 4th. It sounds like you took it in stride. And as long as there was still watermelon, you celebrated!!

Tell Beatrix that I am a bad, bad grandma! (I've given myself that title as you said my girls had a chicken in South Carolina!) It was quite insensitive of me to make such a 'to do' without even mentioning her. I truly hope she can forgive me.

    Blessings, Debbie

  21. Sounds like a wonderful weekend, Tracey. Congratulations to your son, it is wonderful to hear how happy he is. My weekend was similar to your's ... knitting, reading, relaxing, but no fridge issues. That does not sound fun. Hope you enjoy your week and the 13 year old gets better soon.

  22. What an exciting weekend. A big congratulations to your son. Glad your fridge was fixable. Blueberries are one of my favourite berries. Thankfully they are grown locally here in the summer. I have a few plants of my own which I hope to get a few berries from later this year. Jacinta
