To be honest, my post
this week is pretty boring.
I have finally cast on
my second sock and
am just about done
with the ribbing. I'm
not sure what kept me
from casting on the sock
in the first place; maybe
knowing that it won't be
worn until winter. Anyway,
it is an extermely easy sock
to knit and I do need to
move along if I want to have
a pair for each of my boy's
for Christmas.
I finally downloaded
The Dirty Life to my
Kindle since I have been
seeing it on past Yarn -
Alongs for a few weeks now.
The reviews were spot on!
I am loving it. Reading
this makes me want to
renew my efforts to find
a milk cow!
What have you been reading and knitting?
xx
I have just finished that book too and will be posting it later on - love love love! Well done on managing two socks - I have only ever knitted one - still waiting on it's pair. xx
ReplyDeleteOh, still trying to decide on the Nook2 or the Kindle ... love the audio on Kindle but the Nook2 has expandable memory, I can borrow library books NOW, and a touchscreen ...
ReplyDeleteGood for you on starting holiday knitting ... haven't even thought beyond August 1st!
I really do need to check out that book. Your knitting is always soooo beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHooray! A second sock has been cast on :) I have one lonely sock waiting for a mate. I wonder what it is with knitting socks that after one is done, the second one takes a while to join?
ReplyDeletePlus I find it hard to knit anything heavy or needed for winter when it's summer.
Happy knitting!
Glad the sock will soon have a pair! That book does seem to be very popular. I'mg glad you love it. Jacinta
ReplyDeleteNot boring at all! I will just drive down to your place for milk instead of owning one ;) It has been a busy summer hasn't it??
ReplyDeleteI'm keen to get a hold of that book also.Good luck with the other sock.
ReplyDeleteI've been reading The Lady in White per a reccommendation from MJ. Reading it is pretty slow going because of all the fancy language; I think I might enjoy it more if I had the audiobook version.
ReplyDeleteNo knitting for me right now! I still need to learn how. But I should be getting started on crocheting some winter hats...
Good for you for getting to the second sock! Love the color of your yarn. I have had my eye on that book at Borders for weeks now. It sounds excellent!
ReplyDeleteI'm certain that you are right about the second sock. It's harder to knit things that won't be comfortable for many months. In fact, just thinking about them can make one quite un-comfortable right now.
ReplyDeleteThe Dirty Life. Yup, still need to read that one myself!
Blessings, Debbie
Yay for casting on a second sock! It can be so hard to get to the second one...
ReplyDeleteSuch perfect stitches! Do you like using the kindle? I can't bring myself to get one...but it would be the ideal thing for travel!
ReplyDeleteSecond sock is very good news - no single sock syndrome for you!
ReplyDeleteHave got to check out that book!
Glad you too are enjoying that book!
ReplyDeleteAnd a second sock isn't boring! I still haven't braved a first sock. ;)
Have day, Tracey!
Somehow, I don't think my neighbors would appreciate a milk cow in my backyard. ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour stitches are so perfect!! Sigh! I need to practice more.
ReplyDeleteHere's mine

Glad to hear it about Dirty life!! Thanks for the encouragement with Tree in Brooklyn. Just not getting into it yet, but I'll be patient. Yay for moving on the second sock. You'll be done before you know it!!
ReplyDeleteI've got second sock syndrome too. It just isn't all that fun to knit!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! Glad to see you enjoying the book... I have yet to pick it up.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you are enjoying The Dirty Life. I had trouble putting it down at night which made for a pretty grumpy 10 days for me.
ReplyDeleteI wish we lived close by, we could go in on the dairy cow together and share the duties!
ReplyDeleteHere's to overcoming second sock syndrome! Getting a family milk cow is on my to-do list as well. Not for many, many years though...
ReplyDeleteI'm knitting a third sock -don't laugh or think I'm entirely insane. I was hoping to make a second pair, but now I'm almost done and realize I won't have enough yarn for a fourth sock (I know, what a dimwit!). I've finished reading Tobias Wolff's Old School and am now reading The Farmer's Daughter by Jim Harrison and I think Watership Down will be next after that. And I'm putting 'The Dirty Life' on my to-get list.
ReplyDeleteI just cast on a pair of socks as well. They seem to be taking forever! I need to read "The Dirty Life"!!!
