"The flowers of late winter
and early spring occupy
places in our hearts well
out of proportion to their
size."
~ Gertrude S.Wister
I always know that spring has arrived
when the little bare tree in the
corner of the yard starts to put on buds.
I keep watch as the buds slowly show
just a hint of color. It only takes a few
weeks and then the tree is covered with
beautiful pink flowers all reaching
toward the sky.
The flowers won't last long and soon
the tree will be covered in leaves,
the air hot. But for now the little
corner of my yard is the best place
to sit. xx
Tulip trees here aren't any where this close to blooming. However, most years the blooms are spoiled by just one more frost.
ReplyDeleteYour tulip tree must certainly be a beauty to behold.
