YARN ALONG WITH GUEST BLOGGER EMERSON

" I am beginning to learn that it is
the sweet, simple things of life
which are the real ones after all."

~ Laura Ingalls Wilder

Hi, I am Emerson and I wanted to share
my knitting with you today.

I am staying with my Olie [Long O : Lee],
Pappy and Uncle Alex while my mom,
and Daddy are in Charleston for a few days.
On Monday I asked my Olie to teach me
to knit  because I always see her knitting
and I wanted to learn.

Even though she is left handed  and I
am right handed, we finally got it worked
out, Olie put the yarn on the needle for me
and I knit each stitch. I keep saying the
knitting poem and that helps me a lot.
I am knitting a blanket for my horses.
I think knitting is fun!

My Olie is working on a hat for me, it
is a test pattern for Mrs. Ginny. My Olie
wanted to knit it in purple yarn to match
the pullover she is knitting me,  but I
picked red because it is one of my favorite
colors.

Together we are reading Little House in the Big Woods,
and we both like it a lot.

We had fun sitting outside in the shade knitting and
reading, but it was a little hot and then it started
to thunder so we ran back to the house.

Thank you and goodbye!

LA VITA E BELLA

La Vita E Bella

This weekend was filled with
house loving, trying to make
sure all the hard work I did
over the summer isn't lost.

I did a little stash diving and
cast on a new project [more
later].  I don't know what is
wrong with me, but I just had
to cast on a new project even
though I have several projects
already on needles..and projects
already waiting their turn to
be cast on!

There was a phone call with
my favorite six year old letting
me know she has been moved
to the advanced class for gymnastics,
way to go Emerson! Olie is so
happy you are have such a fun
time.

There were hugs from all four
of my boys, making this mama's
heart swell; I just wish my daughter
could have been here, I miss you
Erin.

I took a long ride in the country
to check out a house one of my
son's will soon be calling home
We are so proud that a long awaited
job will begin tomorrow for him
and his wife. It's been a long, hard
road, but so worth all the sacrifices,
hard work does pay off.

There was touring old country roads
and churches, silly grand dogs who
love to pose and funny horses that
wanted attention.

Life is beautiful!
