YARN ALONG

Take any path you please, and
ten to one it carries you down
to water.

Yesterday I showed you my evening knit
project, but it is too large to take on road
trips and most days my road leads to the
beach so I needed something smaller.

I grabbed some lace weight yarn and a size 6
needle, cast on 140 stitches and am knitting
a few rows, purling a few rows.  Super easy,
very portable, a perfect project to work on
while listening to waves and seabirds.

I finished reading The Memory of Water
with my feet in salt water. A nice summer
read with pages detailing the lowcountry
[my home], some mystery to make you want
to keep reading, but not so much that a nap
in the warm sun would be missed.

MY SOUL LEAPS

I find myself at the extremity of a long beach.
How gladly does the spirit leap forth, and
suddenly enlarge its sense of being to the
full extent of the broad, blue, sunny deep!
A greeting and a homage to the Sea! I descend
over its margin, and dip my hand into the wave
that meets me, and bathe my brow. That far-
resounding roar is the Ocean's voice of welcome.
His salt breath brings a blessing along with it.

~Nathaniel Hawthorne

I hope your weekend is
filled with the sights and
sounds of something
beautiful.

Love,
