WEEKENDING

I think this is how we are
suppose to be in the world-
present and in awe.

~ Anne Lamott

What a gentle and peace filled weekend.
Saturday was spent reading [and this book
is fantastic], knitting,  hiking and
not being in a hurry to do anything.

Sunday I was on the shore with a hot
cup of tea before 6:30 a.m. and watched
as the sun rose over the ocean.
I saw birds, lots of sand dollars, starfish,
a live shrimp [I've never seen one at
the beach] that I put back in the water,
a dolphin swimming by and a really
long walk There was a man of war and
even a long stemmed yellow rose rolling
in the tide, along with the remains of
logger head turtle eggs. I tried to share
just a bit of this beauty with you in my photos,
[all with no filter], so you could enjoy
it with me.

I hope your weekend filled you with all
you need and you are ready for the first
day of February tomorrow.

  3. Oh Tracey, you are so lucky to be able to take those walks on the beach and watch the sunrise. While in Tybee, we got up early one morning to watch it and it was stunning! I think I need to move... :-)

  4. I have heard so many good things about that book, glad you are enjoying it. Your weekend sounds just lovely, and the photos are beautiful, thank you for sharing. In four weeks time, if all goes as planned, my little man and I will be standing on the beach, just up the coast from you. I can't wait!

Enjoy a lovely start to your week Tracey.

  14. It's so interesting to see what you saw on the beach. I'd never seen a man o'war before, only read about them, and I really didn't think they looked like that, but they do! How interesting. I loved seeing the eggs and the rose too. There's a story behind that rose.
