"When our eyes see our hands doing the
work of our hearts, the circle of creation
is completed inside us, the doors of our
Souls fly open and Love steps forth to
heal everything in sight."
~ Michael Bridge
Heavy rains and winds on Friday
brought in much cooler weather
making a place by the woodstove
the prime spot to sit. While the
ground is still a squishy, wet,
and muddy mess, the skies are
now crystal blue and being outside
feels rejuvenating.
There was the usual weekend trip
to the market, making me long for
the time I can pick my dinner
from the garden, a little house
loving and of course knitting.
Once a week I am taking the time
to create something other than
knitting and while the plan was
to set up my easel and paints
I found myself drawn to the
felt basket and spent some time
playing around. I used a knit gauge
swatch I had for the center and
added bits of cotton scrapes
and thread to make a needle book
to carry in my tool bag.
How about you, is your door open?

I love your little needle book Tracey. In fact, earlier this afternoon I cut out felt for the kids to handstitch their own needle books for our handwork tomorrow...thought it was time they each hand their own set of needles.
ReplyDeleteI love that quote. Have a wonderful start to your week.
what a sweet little needle book!!! we both branched out a bit this weekend!!! (although it sounds as if you got some of the house work done that I totally ignored!)
ReplyDeletei love this!
ReplyDeleteI love your needle book..I need one of these!! I loved all your pictures too!!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
The needle book is perfect! I've been sticking mine in with my smaller knitting needles, but I always have to search for them. This may be a project I need to copy! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteLove your new header! ..and your beautiful, clever little sewing kit- wonderful.

Love the quote!
ReplyDeleteYour needle book is perfect. I´ll always look for my needles and my tiny scissors.
Can't believe you have mushrooms poking up! Ours are now buried under a foot or more of snow!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love when you see the colours of nature reflected in your craft? What a lovely needle book you have made! While I know you would love nothing more than to see lots and lots of white stuff outside, I want you to know how happy it makes me to see all this bright colour in your space here. White is beautiful but so is blue and green and orange (love seeing the progress on your Stonecrop)! With everything frozen up here in Ontario, it sure is nice to see that there is green underfoot somewhere in the world :) xo
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, my friend, I love your new header! That shade of blue is so vibrant! Wow! Love it! I also like the little felt book that you made...very clever way to keep things you need in your bag. Thanks so much for sharing how things went for you.
ReplyDeleteI need a needle book!
ReplyDeleteToday it was 73 degrees and it is making me long for the days when I can go to the garden for dinner!
Hello Ms Trace!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to visit as always. I LOVE your little needle book. It is so lovely, just like you- my creative friend.
I'm coming to your house, after you visit me...Lovely photos and I try to set aside to write every day. I think it makes me happier. no matter what, feeding our creative pursuits is soul nourishing.
ReplyDeleteHey Lady!!!! LOVE the little needle case. So cute! Take care Sweet One!
ReplyDeleteYou all were blessed to just have rain this weekend. In New York, we got snow!! Yikes, which means I have spent plenty of time knitting! Also your shawl looks so pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteI usually view your posts in the mobile version. Seeing others mention your new header I had to switch to check it out. It is terrific. I love the pop of color.
ReplyDeleteAs for my door open to let my soul fly, kind of. I've been working on a gift for a beloved BFF. Sometimes I feel my gift list is lengthening and it makes me a bit grumpy. There are things I'd like to do and then there's the obligatory tasks that need to be done.
