"The greatest achievement was at first
and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps
in the acorn, the bird waits in the egg,
and in the highest visit of the soul a
waking angel stirs. Dreams are the
seedlings of realities."
~ James Allen
weekending, my favorite part of the week. a time to relax, live, love, just to be. if you'd like to share your weekend either with words, photographs, or both, leave a link to a weekend post in the comments.
This weekend was...
Finally collecting a duck egg and discovering
the next day why there have not been more...
a snake trying her best to scarf it down before
making a getaway. She didn't make it- enough said.
Discovering a cracked Carolina Wren egg on a walk.
Blackberry picking with sticky chins and stained fingers.
Perfect blue skies, warm temperatures and
cool, sweet smelling sea breezes to watch
the air show that flew over the house...
totally loud and totally awesome..
Dinner's cooked on the grill and
picked from the garden-followed by
A&W rootbeer floats.
Dreams beginning to unfold and become
reality-involving tubes of paint and
many, many hollow eggs...
a new career?....we'll see.
How was your weekend? xx

Eeeeek! That snake is terrifying!! How ever did you get so close for that photo?? Lovely weekend here as well (sans reptiles ;-). Looking forward to summer unfolding.
ReplyDeleteYou are so brave to get that close to a snake!!!! I am glad you discovered who your egg thief was. As usual, lovely pictures!
ReplyDeleteGross picture.....glad he was caught.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shot Tracey, I love that one of the snake, even though it's a bit creepy. The blue angels are so amazing, aren't they? And I just learned that the Wren was SC's state bird. We looked it up because we found an itty bitty nest on our last hike. Still not sure if it's a wren's, but it's a cool find ;). Have a great week Tracey!
ReplyDeletelove seeing all the eggs but that snake - ewwww! glad you managed to save the egg :)
ReplyDeleteOh my! I don't think I would have expected that even though it's completely natural. Great shot! I would love to see your eggs!
ReplyDeleteThe snake photo is really great! I feel a tiny bit sorry he did not get a meal, but I am sure he will find one eventually. Your weekend sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWow, what an amazing picture of that snake! Glad you caught the culprit. I'm interested to see these painted eggs of yours!
ReplyDeleteGreat capture on the snake! My mind would be racing on how to incorporate craft into the everyday too! If only I could slow it down enough to *do* some of the things I dream about!
ReplyDeleteWow! I don't know if I would have had the guts to stop and photograph that snake!!! yikes... Awesome pic though :)
ReplyDeleteBerry picking, grilled dinners...mmmm what a great weekend you had.
