Fair flower, that dost so comely grow,
Hid in this silent, dull retreat,
Untouched thy honied blossoms blow,
Unseen thy little branches greet;
...No roving foot shall crush thee here,
...No busy hand provoke a tear.
~Philip Freneau- The Wild Honey Suckle
weekending, my favorite part of the week. a time to relax, live, love, just to be. if you'd like to share your weekend either with words, photographs, or both, leave a link to a weekend post in the comments.
A very uneventful weekend:
Waited Saturday for a storm
that never arrived.
Shared a movie and some laughs
with the thirteen year old.
Ate way too much popcorn and
stayed up way too late.
Did not touch the first piece of laundry,
but I do have beautifully clean
hard wood floors.
Sunday brought clear, sunny skies.
A long walk with extra language
practice on the ipod and the smell
of honey-suckle in the air.
Tried a new recipe [it's a keeper]
Started a new book on the kindle
and practiced on some new
art work. xx

ReplyDeleteslow weekends are the best! the wimpy kid movie was crazy funny. i walked in one afternoon to find my husband and kids laughing hysterically and watching it.
ReplyDeletethanks for the recipe link - looks good and will definitely give it a try!
I LOVE quinoa and bean salad! I make it with kidney beans, edamame, and green beans though, must try with black beans! Haven't seen Wimpy kid yet, do you think an 8 and 6 year old will like it?
ReplyDeleteAnd that's wonderful that you live in HH!! I have never been but hear it's beautiful. Can't wait!
I love the poetry you share.
ReplyDeleteYour weekend sounds like it was a perfect mix of rest and activity. I always stay up way too late on the weekends, too :-)
So glad the storm passed you by! My mil is visiting her sister in SC and had the experience of being on tornado watch for the first time! Your weekend sounds lovely, especially the movie and popcorn!
