JUST EVERYDAY MAGIC

"I do believe in an everyday
sort of magic;
the inexplicable connectedness
we sometimes experience with
places, people, works of art
and the like; the eerie appropriateness
of moments of synchronicity;
the whispered voice,
the hidden presence,
when we think we're alone."

~ Charles de Lint

It has been a happy week,
nothing out of the ordinary,
no major events or happenings,
just everyday living and connecting
with my world.

I've done lessons, both his and mine.
Smelled woolie yarn fumes as I've
knit probably more than I should.
Can there be such a thing?
Connected with friends, old and new.
Eaten very 'clean', only raw vegetables,
protein smoothies mixed with almond
milk and my morning cup of Bulletproof
coffee.
Broke and turned on the A/C to sleep
one night only to pull a quilt on the bed
the following night when the temperature
drop over twenty degrees.
Smelled the sea air and watched birds
dance as waves crashed on shore.

Now to see what the weekend holds.
Have a great one my friends.

Love,
Tracey

FULLY, BRAVELY, BEAUTIFULLY

He said,  "One life on this earth is
all we get, whether it is enough or
not enough, and the obvious conclusion
would seem to be at the very least we
are fools if we do not live it as fully
and bravely and beautifully as we can."

~ Frederick Buechner

Officially spring doesn't begin until
next Friday, but here in the south it
has arrived early. I am trying not to
be bitter that I never saw the first snow
flake fall this year.  I have enjoyed having
all the windows open, although I am
not thrilled with the amount of pollen
that is coating everything, but it does
make the dust a nice pretty yellow.
I'm not the only one who can't keep
up with the dust am I?

The South Carolina state flower,  Yellow
Jessamine, is blooming wildly all over,
decorating the tops of trees and bushes
making my walks quite pretty.

I had all of my labs done this week
[I have Graves Disease] and there has
been some adjusting to my medicines
which should help with my energy level.
It has taken me all week, but I am getting
use to the time change and am enjoying
getting in an extra walk after dinner.

I gave up drinking coffee two years, but
several times lately I have been hearing
about bulletproof coffee, have you tried
it?  I am wondering if it's really worth
all the hype and if I should give it a try?

I made gluten free cheese muffins and
they were actually edible.  I also tried
a new to me quinoa patty recipe that
was pretty good. I did add lots of fresh
chopped garlic and more broccoli to
the recipe, but then I really like broccoli
and garlic.

You know that there is always knitting
in my day and so far I am pleased with
how the baby blanket I am knitting is
coming along.  I hope to be done in
the next few days, especially since the
baby's due date has been moved up.

I hope you are living each day fully
and you have a weekend filled with
beauty and happiness.

Tracey

PETRICHOR

Petrichor (n.)- the smell of
earth after rain

It has rained here every single day,
loud thunder, lightening, power
flickering rain and I only wish
I could send some to Cory and
the rest of California. We have
had more than enough and they
need it, sigh.

My old rooster Hercules has
been cranky all week, he really
does not like me, but Tyrion
has been extra sweet and enjoys
being petted.  Hercules better
watch out ;)

I've been sipping on a new to
me tea all week, turmeric-ginger tea.
I have found it very refreshing
drinking it cold over ice and look
forward to trying it hot when the
weather cools down.

I finished the In Threes baby cardigan
I was knitting and finally sewed the
buttons on. The pattern did come out
large, which I had read, so I'm hoping
it will get a lot of use. I think this
may be my go to baby gift, it was such
a fun knit.

Today I spent working on my Tolt Bag.
I had a little trouble figuring out how to
fold the bag, ahem, but finally got it. Three
folds and I had trouble, shaking my head
in shame.
I worked on adding a lining, but my sewing
skills are really lacking so that isn't going
to happen.
All my plans were not lost,  I did
manage to punch holes in leather and make
a handle, we won't discuss how long that took,
It's finished and I'm pretty pleased with how
it turned out.

There are no plans for my weekend, I'm just
going to see what happens and roll with it.
Hope your weekend is a happy one.

Love,
Tracey
