where there are Octobers.
~ Anne of Green Gables
[Chanterelles !!!]
I took a little time off from
knitting my shawl to work
on a few hats, [here and here],
but now that they are done
it's back to the zen knitting
this shawl brings.
Station Eleven is on my night
stand and Autumn is my after-
noon reading.

Your knitting needles have been very busy! I'm just knitting away at my little vest and then I get to make a hat for Hannah. She actually requested one and I surely can't say no to that. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThose forest scenes are very October. Here the weather is just warming up. It tricks us into thinking the summer is near! Not much knitting going on at my place I'm afraid but I love seeing yours.
ReplyDeleteI love the red hat! You are getting ready for cooler weather. Doesn't it feel nice?! Enjoy the rest of the week.
ReplyDeleteSo, so funny! I have been collecting pictures to post this Friday and am using the same quote. :) Adorable beanies...love the gray you're knitting with...
ReplyDeletelove the shawl, such wonderful looking yarn. and that quote... just perfect. i am very jealous of all those mushrooms!! i love finding mushrooms to photograph. where all those in your yard??
ReplyDeleteThe red and white toadstool is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteAutumn is a lovely SB book, isn't it?
Your grey and white knitting looks so soft and cozy.
Beautiful photos Tracey. I love your shawl, it is coming along, and that hat is adorable.
ReplyDeleteThat quote is one of my favorites from Anne of Green Gables :)
Lovely knitting, and I enjoyed the photographs!
ReplyDeletelove your mushrooms and your fall photos :) how is station eleven going? I am half way through gone girl (eek!). Have a wonderful Wednesday :)
ReplyDeleteThat quote is my fall mantra! :) Love the photos!! (and of course, the knitting!!!!....is the hat going abroad??)
ReplyDeleteHow skilled are you at identifying shrooms??? that is one skill I would love to learn!!! love your photos.
ReplyDeleteIsn't October fabulous?! Love the hat :-)
ReplyDeleteI love October for so many reasons.
ReplyDeleteIt's starting to look like Autumn down there! Hats are fun - nice and quick. But I do love the feeling of knitting on my shawls.
ReplyDeleteAh. Zen knitting. It is the best. :)
ReplyDeleteWho knew mushrooms could be so cute....I have always wanted to know which mushrooms are edible...so many are out there and just go to waste! My German sister-in-law said they would often trek through woods to forage for mushrooms when she was a child. Thanks for the photography workshop info!
ReplyDeleteWhat awesome photographs. I love mushrooms they are so beautiful...I wish that I knew how to forage them. Hopefully one day I'll learn. In France you can take any that you've picked to the pharmacist who will check them for you to make sure they are edible and not poisonous. Love your zen knitting too. Can't wait to see when it's finished.
ReplyDeleteHappy autumn days,
debx
The mushrooms have been popping up here too. I like the little babe to notice them, but I stress, "Don't ever touch!"
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing these beautiful pictures - they took me for a little walk in the woods.
ReplyDeleteAnd your hats are adorable and very 'organic'!
Isn't October just the very best?? Love your knitting -such a sweet hat!
ReplyDeleteYou have such interesting mushrooms in your area. We usually have those boring white ones.
ReplyDeletei love everything susan branch does! have you read her latest?
ReplyDeleteSo so pretty. I love Susan Branch but don't really "read" her - I have really only ever had her calendars! What a fun idea to actually sit that book! Love your shawl, it looks very much like peaceful knitting.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures, Autumn is such a pretty time of year. I didn't used to like it but as I've got older I enjoy watching the trees turning colour and the weather cooling down. Your shawl looks like it will be very cosy
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty autumn! Your yarn basket is so lovely, I want one!!!
ReplyDeleteI really love your mushroom photos, Tracey! Wow. You found some great variety. I love the little red spotted toadstool especially; it was only recently that I learned that there really are mushrooms like that, I'd always thought they were just a cute design! Silly me. I love your yarn basket, it's so pretty. I hope you're having a good week.
ReplyDeletelooks lovely. How great to have somewhere local to forage mushrooms!
