AN AUTUMN YARN ALONG

I'm so glad I live in a world
where there are Octobers.

~ Anne of Green Gables

    [Chanterelles !!!]

I took a little time off from
knitting my shawl to work
on a few hats, [here and here],
but now that they are done
it's back to the zen knitting
this shawl brings.

Station Eleven is on my night
stand and Autumn is my after-
noon reading.

  1. Your knitting needles have been very busy! I'm just knitting away at my little vest and then I get to make a hat for Hannah. She actually requested one and I surely can't say no to that. ;-)

  2. Those forest scenes are very October. Here the weather is just warming up. It tricks us into thinking the summer is near! Not much knitting going on at my place I'm afraid but I love seeing yours.

  16. Who knew mushrooms could be so cute....I have always wanted to know which mushrooms are edible...so many are out there and just go to waste! My German sister-in-law said they would often trek through woods to forage for mushrooms when she was a child. Thanks for the photography workshop info!

  17. What awesome photographs. I love mushrooms they are so beautiful...I wish that I knew how to forage them. Hopefully one day I'll learn. In France you can take any that you've picked to the pharmacist who will check them for you to make sure they are edible and not poisonous. Love your zen knitting too. Can't wait to see when it's finished.
    Happy autumn days,

  18. The mushrooms have been popping up here too. I like the little babe to notice them, but I stress, "Don't ever touch!"

  23. So so pretty. I love Susan Branch but don't really "read" her - I have really only ever had her calendars! What a fun idea to actually sit that book! Love your shawl, it looks very much like peaceful knitting.

  24. Lovely pictures, Autumn is such a pretty time of year. I didn't used to like it but as I've got older I enjoy watching the trees turning colour and the weather cooling down. Your shawl looks like it will be very cosy

  26. I really love your mushroom photos, Tracey! Wow. You found some great variety. I love the little red spotted toadstool especially; it was only recently that I learned that there really are mushrooms like that, I'd always thought they were just a cute design! Silly me. I love your yarn basket, it's so pretty. I hope you're having a good week.
