IT IS SPLENDID

"Isn't it splendid to think of all the things
there are to find out about? It just makes
me feel glad to be alive - it's such an
interesting world. It wouldn't be half
so interesting if we know about every-
thing, would it? There'd be no scope for
imagination then, would there?"

~ Anne of Green Gables

I've had a great week and I
hope the same can be said
for you too.

I have been waking up way
before the sun and enjoying
time to meditate, practice my
yoga, read, watch the sun
rise, dream dreams and prepare
for my day.

Next week we are on spring
break and I have plans to
gut my studio, do a little
painting and a lot of donating
I would also like to cut my
clothing by 50% since I have
a few favorites and the rest just
takes up space.
.
Yesterday my order for  Bulltetproof
coffee arrived and I had my
first cup of coffee in two years.
Well, it wasn't bad, but there is
a whole production thing to just
getting a cup of coffee...
heat the water
grind the beans
time the French press
pour coffee into the blender
add 1 tablespoon of butter
add 1 tablespoon of XCT oil
Blend and drink.
The coffee isn't bad, just
different, but I did miss
my cup of tea this morning
so am not sure how long I
will keep this up.

I have been reading all about
natural plant dyes and now
have yarn dyeing penned on
my list of things to do this
year. I think I've told you how
I try to learn three new things
a year, how about you?

The clover has grown and is
taking over, but with all
the rain we have been experiencing
the ground is too wet to mow.
This weekend we are suppose to
experience a cold front with a low
in the upper 30's, and my fingers
are crossed it doesn't get too cold
for the fruit trees.

I hope you enjoy a great weekend.
Can you believe this is the last
weekend in March?

Much love,
Tracey
XO

  1. It feels slightly odd to me, having been dyeing yarn with plants for years, this sudden surge in interest in a craft that previously most folk I talked to thought was rather out there. But I love that it has caught on as it has, and you will have so much fun with it :)

  2. I love waking before the sun, squeezing in those moments for the things I enjoy. It centers and grounds me for the day ahead. Gosh that clover, when I look down at my feet outside I still see snow.

Have a wonderful weekend Tracey. xo

  7. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of dyes you are going to come up with! Your goal of learning three new things each year is a good one! Learning new things and not being afraid (of trying them or of failing) is something I try to do. Next up, a motorcycle class for Hannah and myself! I've actually taken the class when I turned 40, but then never went further with it. This time I hope to actually get more experience!

  9. I read about the Bulletproof but it seemed like a mighty big production for a cup of coffee. I may still try it. I got the same book last year for my birthday. It's very informative. Good luck with the natural dyes. I love to do it. It's tough to grow plants up here for it - our season is so short and everything is ready to harvest at one time. Last year was too chaotic. I may try to plant a few this year though. Enjoy your weekend Tracey!

  11. Looking forward to see your dye project. I am not sure about the bulletproof coffee if I would like it. .. Hope the temperatures doesn't drop too much and your fruit trees can keep safe. Beautiful photos as usual!

    Happy weekend!

  12. You are the best at taking time to smell the roses. I need to do that more often. I can't wait till you start dyeing. Annie is such an inspiration and I can understand why you've caught the fever.

  13. Hi Tracey - I love the quote at the beginning of your post and your pictures are, as usual, awesome! Good luck with the painting and de-cluttering project. I cleaned out my closet over spring break and got rid of a lot of stuff then too. Everyone really does seem to have "too much." Have a great week.
