Friendship isn’t a big thing —
it’s a million little things.

~Author Unknown

I am so touched by all
the help I have received
from each of you concerning
my dress and shawl knitting,
Thank you. I am knitting
along and have faith that
I will meet my deadline.
If I don't? I received a long
distance phone call from a
dear friend letting me know
she has a shawl that will be
perfect and can get it to me
in time.
 The weather here has turned
cooler making for perfect outdoor
under cloudless skies.
I even had to wear a
light jacket and socks
this morning!
 Do any of you buy
magazines just for the
ads? I bought the latest
issue of Vogue Knitting
just so I could frame this
page from the ads.
 I have been meaning to
show you the thoughtful
gifts that Maria from
Cats, Crafts and Penguins
sent me as part of the Pay
it Forward I signed up for.
Maria  is so talented, and
so sweet,  she even
sent a gift for Miss Bette,
which is a huge hit.
My mail box has been
busy this week. I received
some beautiful yarn and
stitch markers from a giveaway
I won hosted by the lovely
Andi of My Sister's Knitter
and a God's eye, a hand carved owl,
body butter and healing salve all from
the amazing Kim and her family at
Thank all of you ladies, I love everything
and am so blessed to have each of you
as we travel along in this life.
I just hugged you in my thoughts, I
hope you felt the squeeze.
Have a great weekend.

  1. I have a few, knitting magazines in my stash but haven't bought any more because I have hardly made a fingerprint on any of my numerous knitting books, etc. I don't need the extra dust I'm afraid. Once in a while I'll buy a special edition of some theme from Interweave, like their Jane Austen knits or Harry Potter.

  2. Goodness I might just buy that magazine for the picture, beautiful! My what a busy mailbox you have had, happy mail days are the best. So glad you like your goodies. I felt the squeeze, hope you feel one coming back to you. xo

  3. So much goodness in one week for you. Glad you had such happy surprises to make you smile. :-) I can't believe that picture was an ad. I adore it and yes, I would totally buy the magazine just for that. Have a beautiful, happy weekend!

  4. Look at that butterfly! Beautiful photo and so nice to see now that all of ours are gone away. I'm so glad to see you've been on the receiving end of kindness and generosity lately - enjoy! Can't wait to see what you'll make with that pretty blue yarn. Enjoy a lovely weekend, Tracey! xo

  5. my have you received some love and goodness in the mail! Lovely :) I know you will finish that shawl in time. I hope you have a peaceful weekend, Tracey!

  6. Such a great post Tracey- so happy for you. That looks like a lot of fun mail to receive- yay! Enjoy the knitting weather.

  7. What a fun mail week you had indeed! I love that hand carved owl. What pretty yarn that is! I love that picture in Vogue. I may have to go buy that now.

  8. I do exactly the same thing or even have been known to buy cd's just for the artwork on the jacket...It often affects my book choice too. I can't resist a good cover.
Your dress is beautiful so unusual and the orang shawl will work perfectly complimenting your dark eyes. Happy shawl knitting in the cooler climb.

  9. What an amazing mail week you have had. Each treat more fantastic than the next. :)
So glad you got your shawl questions answered. I think the beautiful Terra Cotta color will look gorgeous on you!
