LIVING TODAY WITH GUSTO

“Today is life-the only life you are sure of.
Make the most of today. Get interested in
something. Shake yourself awake. Develop
a hobby. Let the winds of enthusiasm
sweep through you. Live today with gusto."

~ Dale Carnegie

[I wanted to thank you for all your comments to my last post, I have held on to them these last few days.  While I can't say I am at peace with what happened, I can say that I am moving forward and getting on with this life I have been blessed to live. Alex's body was laid to rest on Saturday and my prayers are still with his family and those of everyone involved.]

These last few weeks have seen
not only tears, but some wonderful
moments too...

My son, Charlie, celebrated his
27th birthday, happy birthday
son.

My son, Peter, proposed to his
girlfriend of six years and we
are now planning a wedding
for November 1, 2014.  I am
very happy to welcome Shaylyn
into our family, she is such a
sweetie and I love her like a
daughter already.

There have been the usual trips
to the market for food, the dentist
for teeth cleanings [no cavities!],
lunch out with my best friend,
knitting, always knitting in my days,
the yarn store for yarn and hitting
a big sale on lace yarns [some I'll
be sharing with you so keep a look
out] and just the everyday activities
that make a life.

  1. Tracey you have been on my mind all week, I am happy to see you back in your space. I don't think there can ever be peace with what happened it is just so hard to comprehend, but you have the right attitude about moving forward. We are blessed to be alive, and there are so many wonderful things to be grateful for. We have to look at the good, and keep moving forward. Hugs to you. xo

  2. You have been on my mind too, so much.
I am proud of you and touched too, that you are able to move forward. It's inconceivable. But to keep re-living the pain is to make it happen over and over again. Much Love to you Tracey. So much good is around you. I'm glad you are able to enjoy it.

  4. Here's to planning a wedding!
I have been thinking about you as well. I read the article you linked to and hope there is some quick closure for his family (with trials and the like). It really is senseless.

  11. I missed your last post. So very sad. There is so much in this life that I do not understand. I am thankful to see that you have been blessed with some very sweet joys though. A new daughter-in-law, how lovely!
