WEEKENDING

It's hard to be responsible,
adult and sensible all the time.
How good it is to have a sister
[or two] whose heart is as young
as your own.

~Pam Brown

A Saturday spend on
the road again, this
time to find just the
right gift for an upcoming
birthday.

Rearranging dishes to
accommodate the depression glass
that once belonged to my
grandmother.

Beginning a 10-day fast and
making it to day two without
cheating!

Finally starting to read
The Bell Jar that has been
on my list for years. Not
sure why I've never read
Sylvia Plath before, but it's
about time.

Missing my sisters, a lot.
I had the best time with
the three of us together again.

Watching the clouds blow in
from the tropical storm off the
coast so beach plans are on
hold.

Now a whole day in front of
me....maybe I'll knit, how
about you?

Joining with Amanda for
Weekending.

  3. I read The Bell Jar for the first time when I was 19 and it was transformative for me. I should read it again to see what I think of it now. Enjoy!

  8. It's hard when the guests we love leave. Maybe you could Skype your step-sisters? And good job starting Sunday with a whole day ahead of you. My knitting didn't get nearly the attention I wanted it to this weekend. Hopefully yours did.

    1. Thanks for the lovely comment. Just wanted to say they are my sisters, not steps. Skype? A wonderful invention. Did get some great knitting in since it has poured here on and off all day.

  14. Isn't it crazy how much we miss sisters after we spend some time with them. There are days when I miss mine like crazy. Hope the fast is working out for you. Had to pass this time, but maybe next time.
