Happiness cannot be traveled to,
 owned, earned, worn or consumed.
 Happiness is the spiritual experience
of living every minute with love,
 grace and gratitude.

~Denis Waitley

This weekend has been one
of happiness and thankful
gratitude for...

::a son's longtime girlfriend unhurt
in a car wreck

::chanterelle mushrooms at the
farmer's market

::playing at the waterfront park
with my daughter and granddaughter,
browsing the downtown shops, laughing,
a great girl's day

::finding the perfect gift to add
to my state swap box

::almost finishing my kerchief despite
having to rip out almost all of it
because I failed to notice a dropped

:: enough ripe blueberries to make
a creamy blueberry pie for a nineteen
year old son who loves it

:: being able to stay awake to see
Hatfields & McCoys despite how sad
the whole thing made me feel

:: eating fresh ice cold watermelon

:: looking forward to a trip to the
locally owned bookstore with my
eldest son who I don't see enough
of because of work

:: and perfect weather with no
rain in the forecast

  8. No rain: lovely. Book stores, safe wreck outcomes and HEY! 100 followers. Nicely done. I can't believe how much I enjoyed that show. Now to find time to watch parts two and three. Wishing you the loveliest of weeks.

  9. I'm so glad your son's girlfriend was unhurt!

    Sounds like you had a wonderful girlie day with your daughter and granddaughter. I can't wait to have days like that with my girls when they grow up :)

  10. Oh my, such a weekend of blessings. Of relief. Of giving thanks.

  11. We are watching "Hatfield and McCoys" too, it is a bit sad though.

  12. So many good things. Glad your son's girlfriend is okay. So happy you had time with your oldest son. Yum on the mushrooms and pie. Oh and the Hatfields and McCoys - so sad. I watched it early mornings while everyone has been sleeping. I do love historical drama, but it was such a violent feud. So much misunderstanding and stubbornness.

  13. So glad your son's girlfriend is ok! How scary though! We had horrendous weather this weekend but I think it was just what was needed. It forced us to stay in the house and relax as a family. Pretty perfect to me! :-)

  14. So glad to hear your son's girlfriend was scary. It sounds like a good weekend especially the bookstore to be thankful for...

  15. Sounds like a nice weekend of family time! We enjoy going to visit an old local bookstore (in the town we lived in before we married) monthly. There's just something about it that feels so comfortable and inviting. Have a lovely week!

  16. What a weekend! Glad the girlfriend is safe and sound.

  17. love that flower! and girl time and pie and time spent with family...the best of weekends!

  18. a richly filled weekend. glad everybody's safe!
    what a gorgeous flower you have there!

  19. Sounds like a great weekend, filled with happiness. I missed Hatfield & McCoy; I really wanted to see it, guess I will have to catch it another time.

  20. THat sounds perfectly summerlicious. We had a few hints of summer, but not we are back to cooler temperatures and intermittent rain. This IS the PNW though. :) Gorgeous photo.

  21. A wonderful weekend to be grateful for indeed!!! So glad your son's girlfriend is okay---how scary that must have been... and the blueberry pie sounds fabulous--one of my favorite fruits for sure!! Hope the rest of your week is just as good Tracey!

  22. Again - life is good!
