weekending, my favorite part of the week. a time to relax, live, love, just to be. if you'd like to share your weekend either with words, photographs, or both, leave a link to a weekend post in the comments. Joining with Amanda for her weekending post.
This weekend was all
about family. The weather
was perfect with highs of
72 degrees and lows in
the high 40's. I spent
Saturday browsing around
Charleston. I think it has
to be one of my favorite
cities ever. I came home with
some beautiful sock yarn
with names like Balloon
and Clover [how could I not
bring that home?]. Saturday
night all the children and
their partners gathered at
my home to sit around the
fire pit, eat chili, roast
marshmellows, and most
important, laugh with each
other. Lots of wonderful
memories were made and
after the past couple of weeks,
it was just what this family
needed.
Sunday was sleeping late, Finally!
I guess because I stayed up
way past my normal bedtime.
I will be so thankful when all
of these hormones that are
jumping around in my body
settle down and I can actually
sleep during the night again.
I thought after my children
were not babies I would be
able to sleep [silly me!] I
spent most of the day today
outside taking a long walk
and enjoying the fall air,
lower humidity and lower
pollen count so I could breath!
For today only, Amazon
has The Hangman's Daughter
for only $.99 to download
on to your reading device
if you want to check it out.
I have it downloaded and
have added it to the pile of
ever growing to be read books.
Dinner is leftover's so I
have plans to relax and knit
before the week begins
again. How was your weekend?
xx
We have a long weekend here and we have a blogger friend calling in on their way north. It's exciting to meet someone from blogger land. We have had lots of rain and a return to cold wintery weather.
ReplyDeleteThe weather sounds glorious! I'm so happy to hear you've had a lovely weekend. I know you have been so sad. Sleep deprivation does not help at all. Wishing you peace and rest and love.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great weekend Tracy! I'm exhausted after a 3 day weekend at the hospital...love my job and feel so fortunate to work so little, but boy when every third weekend comes around I'm beat!
ReplyDeleteSounds splendid! I miss marshmallow roasting. I think we need to have a bonfire again soon!
ReplyDeletesounds perfect! i LOVE Charleston as well! aren't the lower temps awesome!? we're going back into the 90's this week, but it's still not too bad. Off subject, does LA check in on homeschoolers or require you to submit curriculum, etc.? My kids aren't school age yet, but from what i gather TX doesn't do anything. They consider a homeschool a private school and so there is no oversight...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful weekend! I am so glad you were able to share time with your family. We had smores this weekend.....maybe at the same time as you!
ReplyDeleteWonderful weekend! So glad that all of your children and theirs were able to come together. Family peace.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week! xx
Sounds like you had a full but blessed weekend. Our weekend flew by - I think I missed it.
ReplyDeleteIt was a lot of catching up this weekend, mostly on sleep and reading in blogland. The laundry can wait :). I think fall came early here this week too! Evenings in the 60's, days in the 80's. And Charleston, oh how I would love to have explored Charleston. We drove through last year and it almost hurt to not be able to stop!! I hope we get to see those lovely yarns--Wednesday perhaps? Sorry to hear about the hormones! I always hope that it isn't as bad as people say...Firepit, roasted marshmellows and chili, sounds perfect :).

Tracey,
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you had a wonderful weekend....and sleep what is that? I too have a hard time with sleep. I go to bed early wake up at all hours 1:00-3:00 ect.. and then get up early because I start wondering why just lay here when there are things to get done..smile..
Praying for you!!

we are big grits eaters too, but i’ve never heard of adding a can of evaporated milk! i actually have an evaporated milk ‘problem’ that i a am trying to kick, but it will to wait till after tonight! we drink evapo in our coffee every morning and it’s just inexplainably good. much better than half and half! But i spilled a can in the fridge the other day and it literally took a chisel and a full hour to clean it up after it had dried. then i thought of my poor arteries! oh well! :) wish i were closer to a shrimp....it feels a bit odd eating them here, but they are on sale this week so what the heck!
ReplyDeleteBalloon and Clover? I love yarn color names! Of course, you had to have Clover but I'm curious to know... what color is balloon?
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing/crying with you about the whole jumpy hormone thing. I too though I'd be sleeping like a baby at this time in my life!
Blessings, Debbie
Your weekend sounds like just what the doctor ordered. Beautiful. Love the shot of the marshmallow!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see that yarn with such cool names, I know they are beautiful!
Women just have it hard all the way through with hormones. Puberty, menstruation, pregnancy, post pregnancy, menopause...jeez. At least we get the benefit of beautiful families. Yours is lucky to have you.
ReplyDeleteSounds perfect to me! Glad you enjoyed some time with your loved ones...and getting new yarn is always fun :)
ReplyDeletesleep? if you find a miracle cure, i want dibs!!! between the mr.'s snoring and a kicking babe, sleep eludes me :(
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect weekend to me!
ReplyDeleteI miss sleeping in. This morning, when the little one woke up at half six, I went in and told him it was still dark (almost true), and he really did go back to sleep for another half hour. Must try that again! :)
"balloon", "clover" oh, I would have had to take such perfectly named yarn home too :)
ReplyDeleteMarshmallows over the fire is such a perfect autumn treat!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful weekend Tracey!
Your weekend makes me long for big family get togethers! So glad you enjoyed time with your family. Sorry to hear that sleep is eluding you. Hoping you start playing some catch up soon!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fantastic weekend. We did some pumpkin picking...in between the raindrops.
ReplyDeleteWeekend was great! Finished painting my 'new' craft room and began returning it's contents from where they were stored in the garage.
ReplyDeleteSo, ended up with a newly painted room and most of the garage back to normal.
All that fresh air is a good tonic for the soul.
Hugs
